Today’s Consuming Fire Meditation- – A Daily Dose of the Flame of Love Diary Served Up with Today’s Scriptures

Wednesday of the Eleventh Week of Ordinary Time

A Cheerful Giver

“They are bored. They live in wasteful laziness, seeking only their own comfort. They exclude Me from their lives, taking every opportunity to hide like cowards and to deceive themselves. They act as if they were not My workers. O unhappy ones, how can you give an account of your wasted time?” (Jesus) (October 4, 1962)

Today’s Readings: Brothers and sisters, consider this: whoever sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and whoever sows bountifully will also reap bountifully. Each must do as already determined, without sadness or compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver. (2 Corinthians 9)

Prayer Meditation- Lord how stingy we can be, even those who feel called to work in Your Vineyard. We can get stuck in our comfort zones and find that much like the Church in Ephesus we have lost our first love (Revelations 2). We forget we are called to evangelize others through our witness of joy, peace and love. As St. Teresa of Avila exclaimed God save us from dour faced saints! Let us sow bountifully today with cheerfulness and not with sadness or compulsion. You love a cheerful giver!

Today’s Consuming Fire Meditation- – A Daily Dose of the Flame of Love Diary Served Up with Today’s Scriptures

Tuesday of the Eleventh Week of Ordinary Time

His Kind of Perfect

If we refer to the Flame of Love, the Lord Jesus will enlighten our intellect to know what we must do, for example, how we can choose between two things and which is the most perfect and represents the Will of God.” (Elizabeth) (July 11, 1975)

Today’s Readings: For if you love those who love you, what recompense will you have? Do not the tax collectors do the same? And if you greet your brothers only, what is unusual about that? Do not the pagans do the same? So be perfect, just as your heavenly Father is perfect.” (Matthew 5)

Prayer Meditation- Lord, we all try so hard to be perfect, but it is perfect the way the world defines it. Along the way it can seem that our love can grow so cold. We make idols out of so many things in our lives and along the way we lose the ability to see others the way You see them. Lord, I believe You are telling us that You want Your kind of perfect- the one that loves without counting the cost. The one that drives out all fear (1 John 4:18). The one that lives the Gospel message we have been reading from the Sermon on the Mount. Lord, it is only Your Grace that makes us that kind of perfect- Lord rain down Your Flame of Love through the Immaculate Heart of Mary that we would know and love Your Perfect Will!

The Extra Mile

Jesus: “You are My little drop of water. Immerse yourself in the intoxicating wine of My infinite Divinity, both in its life-giving power and in its sweet aroma that you pour out for Me. May My good aroma pour out around you. When others perceive it, they will be led to Me. You see, we must be one. Do not be bound by the clay of the earth filled with worms. Let the earth be only that for you. Look at it as such and let us save souls from the worms that threaten and swarm them. Do penance and pray for them. Your acceptance of the sacrifice is the salt that, once poured over the swarming worms, they will fall like dead leeches. Let them be shriveled and annihilated. Let us have just one thought: the salvation of souls.

Today’s Readings: If anyone wants to go to law with you over your tunic, hand him your cloak as well. Should anyone press you into service for one mile, go with him for two miles. Give to the one who asks of you, and do not turn your back on one who wants to borrow.”

Prayer Meditation- Lord You know so well that we have all heard this Gospel and yet how this goes against our flesh and our feelings. Because the truth is most days, we are ready to go to war over that tunic and we certainly are not going to walk even four feet for a spouse, a child, or a co-worker who at this moment is driving us nuts! However, Lord, the battle for today is to put away our feelings so that we can put on Your Heart- it is only with Your Grace that we can give to those who ask of us today. Even when it is difficult or we are tired or it may be inconvenient. This firm and persevering acceptance of sacrifices for love of You is what will produce abundant fruit in many souls! So let us walk that extra mile today- just leave the baggage behind!

Eleventh Sunday of Ordinary Time

Troubled and Abandoned

If all is true and authentic and if it is the Will of God, why must I live with such dark and troubled torments? (Elizabeth) (Spring 1971)

Today’s Readings: At the sight of the crowds, his heart was moved with pity for them
because they were troubled and abandoned,
like sheep without a shepherd. (Matthew 9)

Prayer Meditation- Troubled and abandoned. Lord, if I could think of two words many of us felt and are feeling still in these times they would be it. But Lord, You have never abandoned us and forsaken us- in fact Your Sacred Heart has been moved to pity for not only those of us who felt abandoned but also for those who are away from You during these tumultuous times- the unbelievers and those who do not yet know Your Love. Because the truth is the Fountain of Mercy is flowing more than ever in these times of Divine Mercy. That the graces of the Flame of Love of the Immaculate Heart of Mary- the greatest grace since the Word Became Flesh is flowing to us as well and calling us and our loved ones into the Ark. So raise us up on eagle’s wings as your dear possession (Exodus19) because You will never abandon us or forsake us because we are Your People, the flock You tend! (Psalm 100)

Memorial of the Immaculate Heart of Mary

The Heart Of A Mother

Take this Flame, my daughter, you are the first one I am handing it to. It is the Flame of Love of my heart. Ignite your own heart with it and then pass it on to others.” (Mary) (April 13, 1962)

Today’s Readings:

He went down with them and came to Nazareth,
and was obedient to them;
and his mother kept all these things in her heart. (Luke 2)

Prayer Meditation: Lord, we thank You for the gift of the Immaculate Heart of Our Blessed Mother. She is full of grace and mercy, a mirror of Your Sacred Heart and she passes this Flame to all who will accept it right here, right now! She is the Ark of the Covenant and She is throwing out the lifelines- let us jump aboard this Ark into the safety of Her Immaculate Heart and bring as many as we can with us!

Solemnity of the Sacred Heart of Jesus

Resting On His Heart

He said: “I bless this house that is consecrated to My Sacred Heart.” (Jesus) (August 16, 1962)

Today’s Readings: Come to me, all you who labor and are burdened,
and I will give you rest.
Take my yoke upon you and learn from me,
for I am meek and humble of heart;
and you will find rest for yourselves.
For my yoke is easy, and my burden light.” (Matthew 11)

Prayer Meditation- O Lord on this special day we honor and venerate Your Sacred Heart- burning furnace of charity, abyss of all virtues, fountain of mercy, expiation for all of our sins! You have come to heal us and bind our wounds- to restore us to our true selves. To give us rest. Lord let us bring to You all of our worries, fears, sicknesses, sins, and all of our loved ones and lay it all at Your Feet today! Let us rest on Your Sacred Heart- let us be carried on Your Shoulders like the little lost sheep that we are! Jesus we trust in You!

Unveiled Faces (From Glory to Glory)

Thursday of the Tenth Week of Ordinary Time

Jesus: “You see, My little sister, this fine veil, like a breath, is all that separates us from one another. Do you know what this is? It is your life that still keeps you captive on earth.” (Jesus) (September 3, 1964)

Today’s Readings: Now the Lord is the Spirit and where the Spirit of the Lord is,
there is freedom.
All of us, gazing with unveiled face on the glory of the Lord,
are being transformed into the same image from glory to glory,
as from the Lord who is the Spirit. (2 Corinthians 3:5)

Prayer Meditation- O Lord, we bless You, we adore You and we glorify You because You are  so close to us, it is really just a fine veil which separates us and keeps us captive on Earth. And if we are in You, then the Spirit of the Lord is in us and even here on earth we walk in freedom. With Your Victory on the Cross, the veil of the Temple was torn (Matthew 27:51) in two and the old covenant was gone. We are now Your living temples! And as we gaze on You now with our unveiled faces, we are transformed into Your image from glory to glory because it is not us who live but You who live in us (Galatians 2:20). Lord Jesus reign in us here on Earth as You do in Heaven- come Holy Spirit, come by the means of the power of the Flame of Love of the Immaculate Heart of Mary.

Glorious

Wednesday of the Tenth Week of Ordinary Time

One time, I asked Him to allow me to feel His glorious and majestic presence. He said: Jesus: “My little one, do not ask this for yourself. I give it to those for whom you have made a sacrifice or have offered prayers.”(Jesus) (1961-1962)

Today’s Readings: For if the ministry of condemnation was glorious,
the ministry of righteousness will abound much more in glory.
Indeed, what was endowed with glory
has come to have no glory in this respect
because of the glory that surpasses it.
For if what was going to fade was glorious,
how much more will what endures be glorious. (2 Corinthians 3)

Prayer Meditation- Lord, we thank You, we praise You, and we glorify You because You are glorious! You were glorious in the old covenant and in Redemption. And how glorious it will be when Your Sanctification comes to full fruition when the Holy Spirit renews the face of the Earth as if by a New Pentecost (Pope St. John XX111)! Lord it is easy for us when we feel Your Glory and we feel Your sweet consolations in our souls. Yet You do not want us to ask for these warm fuzzies for ourselves but to pray for Your Glory to illumine the souls for whom we sacrifice and pray because we are not home yet. We all belong to each other. Oh Lord, show us Your Glory and help us to spread Your Flame of Love from heart to heart because the Kingdom is coming and You will have Your Bride spotless and blameless (2 Peter 3:14).

Memorial of Saint Anthony of Padua

Lighting The Lamps of Souls

This oil will fall on empty lamps and the Flame will be lit. It will even fall on souls that have no lamp (those without the light of true faith) and they will find the road to salvation.” (Mary) (May 30, 1965)

Today’s Readings:

You are the light of the world. A city set on a mountain cannot be hidden. Nor do they light a lamp and then put it under a bushel basket; it is set on a lampstand, where it gives light to all in the house. Just so, your light must shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your heavenly Father.” (Matthew 5)

Prayer Meditation: O Lord so many lamps are empty or flickering today- so many are without the light of faith! And yet we too, called to be light in the world, will so often hide our lamps under a bushel. We are called to be witnesses to Your Love in the world- we can’t always do it with words but we can with deeds and prayers- acts of mercy! To keep our lamps lit, we need You, otherwise, we can flicker our pretty quickly. Lord fill us with Your Light so we can be light for all families and for the world.  Lord light our lamps with the Flame of Love so it can spread like wildfire from soul to soul for Your Glory Lord!

Encouragement In Every Affliction — June 11, 2023

Encouragement In Every Affliction

Encouragement  In Every Affliction

Monday Of The Tenth Week of Ordinary Time

Jesus: “I did not say that to discourage you. I want to encourage you so that you do not seek relief by looking to the earth in your battles. Look only at Me. I want that, while snuggling yourself right against Me and surrendering to Me in your arduous struggles, you never stop looking only upwards.” (February 7, 1963)

Today’s Readings: For as Christ’s sufferings overflow to us,
so through Christ does our encouragement also overflow.
If we are afflicted,
it is for your encouragement and salvation;
if we are encouraged,
it is for your encouragement,
which enables you to endure the same sufferings that we suffer.
Our hope for you is firm,
for we know that as you share in the sufferings,
you also share in the encouragement. (2 Corinthians 1)

Prayer Meditation- O Lord, we thank You and bless You today because we know that our lives are full of sufferings and afflictions. And how often these sufferings drag us down to earth and we take our eyes off of You. It can be so hard to pray in those times, it can be so easy to be discouraged. And yet Lord, You tell us in today’s Gospel  (Matthew 5) that blessed are those who mourn for they will be comforted. Lord help us to look only at You and to snuggle against Your most Sacred Heart surrendering all of our cares because You care for us (1 Peter 5:7). And let us take that encouragement from our time spent in prayer and in meditation on Your Word and at Mass and offer it to others who are suffering so that they too can share in the peace that surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:7). The peace that only comes from You!
