Today’s Consuming Fire Meditation- – A Daily Dose of the Flame of Love Diary Served Up with Today’s Scriptures

Great Things

I always tell you not to worry that you can give Me only little things. I say again, ‘Always remain little.’ Do not believe that if you had powers to do great things, you would be a saint sooner. (Jesus) (April 10, 1962)

Today’s Readings: My soul proclaims the greatness of the Lord; my spirit rejoices in God my savior. for he has looked upon his lowly servant. From this day all generations will call me blessed: the Almighty has done great things for me, and holy is his Name. (Luke 1)

Prayer Meditation- Lord You alone do great things- You have done great things for Mary and You are doing great things in all of our lives. Lord, we go around thinking we are the ones who are to do the great things- we will ourselves to be holy under our own power but it just never works! We spin our wheels, we exhaust ourselves, we burn out and come to the end of ourselves because only You can make us holy! Lord, please help us to always be little, to trust in Your Grace and abandon ourselves to Your Divine Providence! Blessed Mother, gather Your children around You to sing His Praises today- Holy is His Name!

Thursday of the Third Week of Advent

The Winter is Past- The Rains Are Gone

Jesus: “My little one, I am the country’s beggar. They refuse to give Me work. All forms of begging are forbidden in this country. I alone keep on begging. I wander without eating or drinking, from street to street, from house to house and from village to village, in the cold winter and in the heat, in the howling wind or in the heavy rain.  (Jesus) (May 2, 1962)

Today’s Readings: “For see, the winter is past,
the rains are over and gone.
The flowers appear on the earth,
the time of pruning the vines has come,
and the song of the dove is heard in our land.
The fig tree puts forth its figs,
and the vines, in bloom, give forth fragrance.
Arise, my beloved, my beautiful one,
and come! (Song of Soloman 2)

Prayer Meditation- Lord we bless You, we adore You and we worship You because Christmas, the big day, is so close. The winter of our discontent and the hard rains of our sins will be gone because You have come to redeem the world. And You did, and You do redeem us forming the spring of our new lives in You! And we rejoice because You have called us to union with You, the Bridegroom who has come for His Bride, the Church! And You will come again to meet us holy and blameless in You (Ephesians 1:4). And yet Lord not all will rise to greet You this Christmas, so many will focus all that shines in the world loving the gifts but not the Giver. Even worse, many will reject You altogether, leaving You to beg as You knock on the door of all hearts (Revelations 3). Oh My Jesus, may we greet You with love and with songs in our hearts with the Blessed Mother and Saint Joseph, adoring You like the Shepherds who responded to the choir of the Angels. May we be ready to come, all of us faithful, joyful and triumphant because Emmanuel is here!

Today’s Consuming Fire Meditation- – A Daily Dose of the Flame of Love Diary Served Up with Today’s Scriptures

Wednesday of the Third Week of Advent

Emmanuel

At this moment, the bells began to ring for the Angelus. I wanted to begin this prayer that honors the Blessed Virgin, but she intervened. Mary: “Now, your prayer must be to pay attention to my words. Meditate on them with your mind as a sign of your veneration. (Elizabeth/Mary) (December 12, 1964)

Today’s Readings: Therefore the Lord himself will give you this sign:
the virgin shall conceive and bear a son,
and shall name him Emmanuel. (Isaiah 7)

Prayer Meditation: O Lord, what a beautiful announcement today in today’s Gospel, the Annunciation, when the Word became flesh and dwelt among us! Thank You Blessed Mother for being attentive to God’s Will and giving Your Fiat to the Incarnation. Lord, we are often given signs, and like King Ahaz in the first reading we can be purposely dense and even show false humility, not believing You would ever speak to us, when really we are just tuned out and ill disposed. How weary we must make You at times Lord when all You want to do is live among the sons of men (Revelations 21:3), Emmanuel, God with us! Lord may we listen to the Blessed Mother, especially in the beautiful words of The Angelus, and meditate on them as a sign back to You of our veneration and our love! Because You are our Emmanuel- wonderful counselor, Lord of life, Lord of all, Prince of Peace, mighty God, Holy One, Emmanuel!

Today’s Consuming Fire Meditation- – A Daily Dose of the Flame of Love Diary Served Up with Today’s Scriptures

Tuesday of the Third Week of Advent

Spirit and Power

My daughter, you will have to suffer much. I will give you no consolation that will tie you to the earth, but I will always give you My fortifying grace. Also, the power of the Holy Spirit will be with you.(Jesus) (March 4-7, 1962)

Today’s Readings: He will be filled with the Holy Spirit even from his mother’s womb,
and he will turn many of the children of Israel
to the Lord their God.
He will go before him in the spirit and power of Elijah
to turn the hearts of fathers toward children
and the disobedient to the understanding of the righteous,
to prepare a people fit for the Lord.” (Luke 1)

Prayer Meditation- O Lord today we thank You and praise You and worship You  because today we have announcements- announcements from Heaven. Announcements about the coming of the one who was to prepare the way for You to turn the hearts of fathers towards children and an announcement to an ordinary widow that Your Grace will always be with her even in her suffering as she lives out the plan You have for her life. Because Lord, You have a plan for each one of us, be it a big mission or a smaller more ordinary one. You have had a dream for our lives from all Eternity. O Lord You know we cannot do anything on our own (John 15) except fall down and yet You promise us the power of the  Holy Spirit to remind us always of what You have taught us (John 14:26). Not a spirt of fear but of power, love and self control! (2 Timothy 1:7). So Lord, let us surrender ourselves to You without questioning and doubting like Zechariah in today’s Gospel, fully trusting that Your plan is always for our good.

Monday of the Third Week of Advent

God With Us

Mary: “My little one, my Flame of Love has become so incandescent that I want to spread on you not only its light, but also its warmth with all its power. My Flame of Love is so great that I can no longer keep it within me; it leaps out at you with explosive force. My love that is spreading will overcome the satanic hatred that contaminates the world so that the greatest number of souls is saved from damnation. I am confirming there has never been anything like this before. This is my greatest miracle ever I am accomplishing for all.(Mary) (October 19, 1962)

Today’s Readings:

Behold, the virgin shall be with child and bear a son,
and they shall name him Emmanuel, which means “God is with us.” (Matthew 1)

Prayer Meditation- O Lord, You are with us always as You have promised and You will never leave us.  O Lord, we can be fearful of taking Mary into our homes  because we know it will be life changing because it is through the Holy Spirit that You will again be born in our homes and in our hearts if we really let You in this Christmas. And it is this “Flame of Love” of Your Heart that You want to ignite in ours so that You would truly reign on Earth as You do in Heaven! Will we truly let You be our Emmanuel, God with us, or will be just be caught up in all that we have to do this week and wonder where it all went when we gather up the torn wrapping paper and clean up the Christmas meal on Christmas night? Will we be still and know that You are God, made small and helpless for us so that we would be free? Will we take You to our holiday gatherings, the only Jesus some may ever see?  Thank You Lord for the Grace of the Flame of Love for this time and this world that is so in need of You, may we respond with our fiat that You would indeed reign in us and reign in all the Earth this Christmas!

Third Sunday of Advent

Rejoice Always!

Oh, happy moment! I know that you also hope for the moment when nothing will separate us anymore. I wait for you with all My riches. We will be totally one, indivisibly. I know your heart is beating with joy and I rejoice with you. Your Master takes care of you. If you stumble, My hand will raise you immediately. Your constant repentance obliges Me to pour out upon you My constant pardon.” (Jesus) (April 14, 1964)

Today’s Readings: Brothers and sisters: Rejoice always. Pray without ceasing. In all circumstances give thanks, for this is the will of God for you in Christ Jesus. (1 Thessalonians 5)

Prayer Meditation- Lord, today is the Third Sunday of Advent, the weekend when we meditate on the Light coming ever nearer (John 1). Lord, You ask us to rejoice and pray always! The key is in the third “commandment” of St. Paul- in all circumstances give thanks! Let us give thanks for everything that comes to us from Your Hands, even those things which seem so hard right now, help us let nothing steal our joy! Lord please rejoice over us today (Zephaniah 3:7) as we lift our hands in praise to You, the Light of the World!

Today’s Consuming Fire Meditation- – A Daily Dose of the Flame of Love Diary Served Up with Today’s Scriptures

Saturday of the Second Week of Advent

Days of Elijah-Like A Fire

Jesus: “Are you confident you can fulfill the destiny for which we have chosen you? I am asking you again: Do you accept the many humiliations and sufferings that accompany the task of asserting our Holy Cause? Do you know that the sufferings you have received so far only served to prepare you to achieve the goal that we set for you? You are an instrument in our hands. Do you want to continue being an instrument? Do you want to climb with Me the Mount of Calvary, the Golgotha? If so, your place is beside the Mother of Sorrows. The Flame of Love of her heart that she wishes to enkindle on earth through you demands a total commitment on your part. Do not answer right now, meditate and prepare yourself to the answer concerning the great Cause.” (Jesus) (March 24, 1963)

Today’s Readings: In those days,
like a fire there appeared the prophet Elijah
whose words were as a flaming furnace.
Their staff of bread he shattered,
        in his zeal he reduced them to straits;
By the Lord’s word he shut up the heavens
and three times brought down fire.
How awesome are you, Elijah, in your wondrous deeds!
Whose glory is equal to yours?
You were taken aloft in a whirlwind of fire,
in a chariot with fiery horses.
You were destined, it is written, in time to come
to put an end to wrath before the day of the LORD,
To turn back the hearts of fathers toward their sons,
and to re-establish the tribes of Jacob.
Blessed is he who shall have seen you
and who falls asleep in your friendship. (Sirach 48)

Prayer Mediation- O Lord we thank You, and bless You, and glorify You for these readings about Elijah. The first Elijah who came like fire for the conversion of Israel and John the Baptist in the Gospel, the Elijah who was to come (Malachi 4:5-6) to turn the hearts of fathers towards their sons. The precursor of the Messiah! And here we are today, preparing ourselves this Advent for You to reign in all the Earth, for Your Kingdom to come! Our place is besides the Mother of Sorrows, who also has her role to enkindle the Her Flame of Love. And you are asking for total commitment on our part in these days and these times so that we would be instruments to in this great Cause! Fiat Lord! Maranatha!

He is Teaching- Are You Listening

Today’s Consuming Fire Meditation- – A Daily Dose of the Flame of Love Diary Served Up with Today’s Scriptures

Friday of the Second Week of Advent

He is Teaching- Are You Listening

From time to time, He would say a few words. He knows very well that I listen to each of his words as a prayer. I constantly reflect on His teaching. Today, it happened the same way. (Elizabeth) (March 4, 1966)

Today’s Readings: I, the LORD, your God,
teach you what is for your good,
and lead you on the way you should go. (Isaiah 48)

Prayer Meditation- Lord, we learn in Isaiah today in the First Reading that You are always teaching. You are always teaching us what is for our good and to lead us on the way we should go. You do this in Your Word, and through Your Church and in Your Holy Inspirations. But Lord, are we listening? Because in the Gospel we see that You taught through John the Baptist and You taught by Your Incarnation and living among us with Your sermons and Your miracles and all the people could do was to find a reason to complain and a reason not to believe. Lord, why do we do that? Why do we pay no heed to Your words to us and then complain that we are all alone and that You have abandoned us. Today, let us not do this! In whatever circumstance we may find ourselves, whatever suffering whether it was allowed by You or brought on ourselves by our own brokenness let us get quiet today so that we can hear Your Voice in our hearts. You are teaching-help us to listen!

Fear Not!

“Tell Me, little sister, why do you consider yourself alone since I am the One leading you? Have no fear, I will not let go of you. Come, let us go together and let there be no other moment when you would feel alone.” (Jesus) (January 25, 1966)

Today’s Readings: I am the LORD, your God, who grasp your right hand; It is I who say to you, “Fear not, I will help you.” (Isaiah 41)

Prayer Meditation- Lord, we can often feel so alone- we wonder where You are in the storms of life. Sometimes You, the Teacher are quiet while we are taking the tests of life. But Lord, You have promised that You will never leave or forsake us! You grasp our right hands and whisper to us to fear not! Let there be no moment in our lives that we should ever feel abandoned but let us come to You with humble trust and surrender!

Memorial of Saint Lucy

Stumbling Into Holiness

You did not make yourself worthy. I, God, thought you worthy of your call. Even one instant is too much for you to be occupied with something else. My love does not rest. May our thoughts be as one!” (Jesus) (August 30, 1964)

Today’s Readings: Jesus said to the crowds: “Come to me, all you who labor and are burdened, and I will give you rest.  Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am meek and humble of heart; and you will find rest for yourselves.  For my yoke is easy, and my burden light.” (Matthew 11)

Prayer Meditation- Lord, like the first reading today in Isaiah 40 we do run and grow weary, we walk, and not only do we faint, we stumble and fall. We work in our own power to somehow be good enough, to measure up, even for those of us on a spiritual path to make ourselves holy. We are literally tripping on our own feet! You see all of this and You say to us today enough! You call to us to come to You, all who are labored, burdened, just plain worn out and sick and tired of being sick and tired and You ask us to turn in that worn out yoke for a brand new one of Your making. Because we do not make ourselves good or holy- only You do when we surrender ourselves to Your Divine Will, the sacrament of the Present Moment which includes our duties to You and to our state in life and loving acceptance of all that comes to us through Your Hands for our good! Thank You Jesus for stepping into this holiday madness with Your Word in the Gospel today- let us have ears to hear!
