Chain Breaker

Let Him chain me to His Sacred Feet so I would always be united to Him. Thus, I would always feel sheltered. He then asked me to renounce myself because I tend to be distracted and worldly. (Elizabeth ) (1961-1962)

Today’s Readings: But Paul shouted out in a loud voice, “Do no harm to yourself; we are all here.” He asked for a light and rushed in and, trembling with fear, he fell down before Paul and Silas. Then he brought them out and said, “Sirs, what must I do to be saved?” And they said, “Believe in the Lord Jesus and you and your household will be saved.” (Acts 16)

Prayer Meditation- Lord, we read about Paul and Silas in prison, and yet it was the guard and so often us who are in chains. The earthquake that opened the prison doors was the opportunity for the guard to come to You to be saved! So often Lord, it is the earthquakes in our lives that come out of nowhere that do just that- that cause us to tremble in fear and yet if we reach out to You, we will be set free from the chains of sin and darkness that have kept us in prison. Lord help us not to return to being worldly and distracted, to our old lives- break our chains so that we can live united to You!

O Lord, come Holy Spirit, come Spirit of Truth to bear witness in our hearts and souls to the truth of the Gospel that we may live it!

Monday of the Sixth Week of Easter

Living in the Spirit- Real Time

Jesus: “And I tell you: From now on, no longer speak of yourself. The ‘I’ in you must cease completely. Let there be only Me for you. That is your real life.” (Jesus) (May 16, 1963)

Today’s Readings: Today’s Readings: Jesus said to his disciples: “When the Advocate comes whom I will send you from the Father, the Spirit of truth who proceeds from the Father, he will testify to me. And you also testify, because you have been with me from the beginning. (John 15)

Prayer Meditation- Lord, You have promised that You will send the Advocate. In fact, if we are baptized and confirmed You indeed have. Lord sometimes it gets so confusing- there are the gifts and the fruits but we can so often wonder if any of this is actually working in our lives. Yet Lord, You meant for Your Spirit to guide us in our real lives, real time! Lord, send us anew Your Spirit of Truth- let Him testify to You so that we can testify that this same Spirit that rose Jesus from the grave lives in us! (Romans 8:11) Come Holy Spirit with all of Your Gifts- let Your Peace rule in our hearts (Colossians 3:15).

O Lord we thank You because You are Love Itself and You loved us into being! You chose us- it is not about us but only You Jesus!

Sixth Sunday of Easter

Astounded by The Holy Spirit

While the Lord poured out His Spirit in my soul, I felt the Holy Spirit breathe upon me a different level of grace, so I could overcome temptations. (Elizabeth) (April 20, 1962)

Today’s Readings: While Peter was still speaking these things, the Holy Spirit fell upon all who were listening to the word. The circumcised believers who had accompanied Peter were astounded that the gift of the Holy Spirit should have been poured out on the Gentiles also, (Acts 10)

Prayer Meditation- Lord, are we astounded still by The Holy Spirit? Do we truly have a relationship with The Holy Spirit? Do we understand the gifts- are we manifesting the fruit? Lord so many of us have only a passing relationship with The Holy Spirit. Yet it is the Spirit who prays for us in groanings when we do not have the words and helps us in our weakness (Romans 8:26). Without You Lord, we can do nothing! Lord, help us to be docile to The Holy Spirit, let us pray Come Holy Spirit, renew the face of the Earth (Psalm 104). Come Holy Spirit, come by the means of the Flame of Love of the Immaculate Heart of Mary!

O Lord, we seek You always- may we be raised with You not only in Heaven but in our daily lives!

Saturday of the Fifth Week of Easter

Chosen Out Of The World

“That first meeting was the great step, My little one, when My Mother entrusted you to Me in a special way. Since then, My little one, you have been flying like an arrow towards Me. In your flight, never turn to look back at earth so that the world’s noise does not bother you.” (Jesus) (April 8, 1962)

Today’s Readings: Today’s Readings: Jesus said to his disciples: “If the world hates you, realize that it hated me first. If you belonged to the world, the world would love its own; but because you do not belong to the world, and I have chosen you out of the world. (John 15)

Prayer Meditation- Lord, You have chosen us out of the world. Not to go live in some cloister somewhere, at least most of us who live in families and have jobs and are living the day to day life. But You have called us to come away from the world’s noise and to keep our eyes fixed on You in our sojourn here on Earth. Lord, many of us have felt it as we grow closer to You- friends and family who don’t “get” all the changes in us. Or how we view what was so important to us before in our work and our entertainments as so much straw! (Thomas Aquinas). Lord help us not to look back but to look up because we are Your children now- what we will be we do not know but we know we will be like You! (1 John 3:2). Help us to fly to You Lord today!

O Lord, what can we say but Fiat Lord, we surrender to You!

Do We Still Not Know Him?

“Elizabeth, a long time ago, when you did not think of Me, I was always there. I kept you from falling on the icy and slippery road of life. At that time, you did not believe that I was protecting you from so many falls. I was watching closely each footstep you were taking.” (Jesus) (January 26, 1966)

Today’s Readings: Philip said to him, “Master, show us the Father, and that will be enough for us.” Jesus said to him, “Have I been with you for so long a time and you still do not know me, Philip? Whoever has seen me has seen the Father. How can you say, ‘Show us the Father’? Do you not believe that I am in the Father and the Father is in me? (John 14)

Prayer Meditation: Lord, so often we are like Philip. We can even be believers trying to follow You earnestly and still not get it! Because seeing You is seeing The Father- The Good Good Father who not only watches over us but directs our steps even while we make our plans and think we are so in control (Proverbs 16:9). Even when we do not know it, You have been there all along protecting us from so many falls. Lord increase our faith and our trust today so that we can say with confidence that You are God alone and we will love You with all of our heart, soul, mind and strength! (Deuteronomy 6).
