Today’s Consuming Fire Meditation- – A Daily Dose of the Flame of Love Diary Served Up with Today’s Scriptures

Friday of the Third Week of Easter

Blinded By The Light

My soul, in God’s peace, was filled with thoughts about the good God. I did not even remember my blindness of this morning, and had completely forgotten it. (Elizabeth) (1977)

Today’s Readings: Jesus who appeared to you on the way by which you came, that you may regain your sight and be filled with the Holy Spirit.” Immediately things like scales fell from his eyes and he regained his sight. (Acts 9)

Prayer Meditation: O Lord, we go through life with scales on our eyes blind to Your goodness- each going our own way until we sink into darkness. Yet You never give up on us! If we need to be knocked down and blinded by life to finally see You it will be allowed- that is how much You love us! Let us forget our former blindness and let the scales fall off of our eyes and begin again in You!

Thursday of the Third Week of Easter

Meeting Us On The Way

Do not be surprised by what I am going to say or the way I will express it. Just so you understand the meaning of My words, I must use expressions that are familiar to you: Both in quantity and in quality, you have responded to the Divine Demands.” (Jesus) (October 23-24 1963)

Today’s Readings:

Philip ran up and heard him reading Isaiah the prophet and said,
“Do you understand what you are reading?”
He replied,
“How can I, unless someone instructs me?” (Acts 8)

Prayer Meditation- O Lord, You open up the Scriptures to us through the Daily Readings and the teaching authority of Your Church as well as through The Holy Spirit who whispers into our hearts as we meditate on Your Word. Jesus, open our eyes and meet us where we are so that we can respond to Your Grace just like the Ethiopian official- let us skip along the road with joy today as You touch us in Word and Sacrament!

Wednesday of the Third Week of Easter

Uniting Our Wills To The Will of The Father

“May our lips beg our heavenly Father, together, to obtain mercy.” (Jesus) (October 11, 1962)

Today’s Readings:

For this is the will of my Father, that everyone who sees the Son and believes in him may have eternal life, and I shall raise him on the last day.” (John 6)

Prayer Meditation: O Lord, Your Divine Will is that all will be saved so that all will have eternal life. Your Promises are true! Let us unite our prayers to the prayer of Jesus who intercedes for us without ceasing for the salvation of the world no matter how little you may think you are!

Jesus The Bread of Life — May 5, 2025

Jesus The Bread of Life

Jesus- The Bread of Life

Today’s Consuming Fire Meditation- – A Daily Dose of the Flame of Love Diary Served Up with Today’s Scriptures

Tuesday of the Third Week of Easter

Jesus- The Bread of Life

Then I humbly hid Myself under a common appearance so as to be more accessible to you, so that you would not fear Me. I hid Myself in the white Host like a child wrapped up in swaddling clothes. When I enter your heart, make sure that the robe of your soul is free from any stain or tear, because no father has made greater sacrifices to acquire a suit for his child. (Jesus) (May 1962))

Today’s Readings: Jesus said to them, “I am the bread of life; whoever comes to me will never hunger, and whoever believes in me will never thirst.” (John 6)

Prayer Meditation- O Jesus, let us come to You today as little children ready to receive the Bread of Life and let us hunger and thirst only for You! Lord, we know that there are many still unable to receive You in these times except spiritually- help us to make worthy Spiritual Communions and enter our hearts and change them. May our hearts beat in unison!

Working With Jesus — May 4, 2025

Working With Jesus

Monday of the Third Week of Easter

Working With Jesus

The time that you devote to Me is never lost. It is saved for an eternity of infinite value. You will easily render an accounting for time dedicated to God. Why not do everything for Me? This is so easy. (Jesus) (October 9, 1964)

Today’s Readings: So they said to him, “What can we do to accomplish the works of God?” Jesus answered and said to them, “This is the work of God, that you believe in the one he sent.” (John 6)

Prayer Meditation- O Lord we spin our wheels trying to work for You in our own power but Your yoke is easy and Your burden light. What You are really looking for is our hearts- what is our intention in each act- are our minds on You and You alone or our own self -interest even in the holy things?  Lord help us to spend time with You each day and offer everything to You today- the good, the bad, and the ugly knowing that You are the One who is doing the work though us and You are faithful to complete it- we are nothing and You are all!

Being Peter — May 3, 2025

Being Peter

Being Peter

Today’s Consuming Fire Meditation- – A Daily Dose of the Flame of Love Diary Served Up with Today’s Scriptures

Third Sunday of Easter

Being Peter

The Lord Jesus told me that He had just given me, with wonderful strength, the grace of faith and confidence, because without these two virtues, no other virtues can take root in either me, or in any other soul. (Elizabeth) (March 24, 1963)

Today’s Readings: Peter was distressed that Jesus had said to him a third time, “Do you love me?” and he said to him, “Lord, you know everything; you know that I love you.” Jesus said to him, “Feed my sheep. Amen, amen, I say to you, when you were younger, you used to dress yourself and go where you wanted; but when you grow old, you will stretch out your hands, and someone else will dress you and lead you where you do not want to go.” (John 21)

Prayer Meditation- Lord, how many times like Peter have we denied You? And how many times is it because we are lacking virtue- the virtues of fortitude and courage that overcome the need for human respect and help us overcome the fear of the unknown. Peter loved Jesus but Peter blew it when Our Lord needed him- sometimes isn’t that every one of us? And yet Lord, You never fail to reach out to us with love and You never deny us Your strength and Your grace- they are there for the asking. Peter was reminded as we all should be that we will increasingly face circumstances in our life we cannot control especially with aging- at the end of the day Our Lord asks each one of us if we love Him- and no matter how much we have blown it may we have the grace to answer Yes, Lord, You know that I love You and I trust in You!

Do We Still Not Know Him? —

Do We Still Not Know Him?

Do We Still Not Know Him?

Today’s Consuming Fire Meditation- – A Daily Dose of the Flame of Love Diary Served Up with Today’s Scriptures

Feasts of St. Philip and Saint James

Do We Still Not Know Him?

“Elizabeth, a long time ago, when you did not think of Me, I was always there. I kept you from falling on the icy and slippery road of life. At that time, you did not believe that I was protecting you from so many falls. I was watching closely each footstep you were taking.” (Jesus) (January 26, 1966)

Today’s Readings: Philip said to him, “Master, show us the Father, and that will be enough for us.” Jesus said to him, “Have I been with you for so long a time and you still do not know me, Philip? Whoever has seen me has seen the Father. How can you say, ‘Show us the Father’? Do you not believe that I am in the Father and the Father is in me? (John 14)

Prayer Meditation: Lord, so often we are like Philip. We can even be believers trying to follow You earnestly and still not get it! Because seeing You is seeing The Father- The Good Good Father who not only watches over us but directs our steps even while we make our plans and think we are so in control (Proverbs 16:9). Even when we do not know it, You have been there all along protecting us from so many falls. Lord increase our faith and our trust today so that we can say with confidence that You are God alone and we will love You with all of our heart, soul, mind and strength! (Deuteronomy 6).

Gathering The Fragments — May 2, 2025

Gathering The Fragments

Gathering The Fragments

Memorial of Saint Athanasius

Gathering The Fragments

Jesus: “I am showing you this so you see how abundant the harvest is. You, My beloved; you, My great collaborator, may our hands gather in unity. Continue working for the salvation of souls. (Jesus) (February 8, 1964 )

Today’s Readings: When they had had their fill, he said to his disciples,
“Gather the fragments left over,
so that nothing will be wasted.”
So they collected them,
and filled twelve wicker baskets with fragments
from the five barley loaves that had been more than they could eat. (John 6)

Prayer Meditation- Lord, You have asked us to gather souls with You in unity- souls that are away from Your Love. The harvest is abundant but the workers are few (Matthew 9). Lord, when you multiplied the loaves and fishes You wanted even the left over fragments gathered so that nothing would be wasted. No soul You have created is a left over fragment and all are precious to You! Lord, in this time of exile we need to redouble our prayer and fasting as You have shown us for the love of You and the salvation of souls!

The Spirit Is Never Rationed — May 1, 2025

The Spirit Is Never Rationed

The Spirit Is Never Rationed

Today’s Consuming Fire Meditation- – A Daily Dose of the Flame of Love Diary Served Up with Today’s Scriptures

Thursday of the Second Week of Easter

The Spirit Is Never Rationed

Jesus: “Do you see My hand begging for help, My little sister? Many turn their eyes away so they do not have to bear the sad look in My eyes. I am the One who draws close to them. But they just keep walking stubbornly the path of darkness. (Jesus)April 12, 1965)

Today’s Readings: Whoever does accept his testimony certifies that God is trustworthy.
For the one whom God sent speaks the words of God.
He does not ration his gift of the Spirit.
The Father loves the Son and has given everything over to him.
Whoever believes in the Son has eternal life,
but whoever disobeys the Son will not see life,
but the wrath of God remains upon him. (John 3)

Prayer Meditation- Lord when times are difficult it seems You are so far away and that You don’t see our struggles. And yet it is You Lord that always desires to draw close to us even as we walk in darkness. Lord Jesus, You were sent to Earth to bring us to The Father and Eternal Life. Lord, You ask us to believe, to trust and to obey even when it is really hard to see You in our pain. Lord, help us trust in You because You are trustworthy- You are close to the brokenhearted and the crushed in spirit You save (Psalm 34) because Your Spirit is never rationed but poured out in abundance to those who believe in Your Goodness.
