Today’s Consuming Fire Meditation- – A Daily Dose of the Flame of Love Diary Served Up with Today’s Scriptures

Friday of the Fourth Week in Ordinary Time

Content With What We Have

I see that you have little faith. Why are you impatient? It is My responsibility to give you a spiritual director. Do not fear. I will give you a director according to My Heart. Do not fear, I will never abandon you.” (Jesus) (August 16, 1962)

Today’s Readings: Let your life be free from love of money

but be content with what you have,

for he has said, I will never forsake you or abandon you. (Hebrews 13)

Prayer Meditation- Lord it is so easy to strive constantly for more- whatever is new and shiny that we think we have to have! Even spiritually- we run ahead of You looking for the big breakthrough yet where we are is where You want to sanctify us! Lord help us be content in all the circumstances we find ourselves- in worry, in want, in darkness and lack of clarity, in fear and trouble! You will never forsake or abandon us!

Living Fire — February 1, 2023

Living Fire

Today’s Consuming Fire Meditation- – A Daily Dose of the Flame of Love Diary Served Up with Today’s Scriptures

Feast of the Presentation (Candlemas)

Living Fire

On the feast of Candlemas, my beloved sons will introduce the Flame of Love of my heart in procession, so that, in such fashion, it becomes a living fire in their hearts and souls. (Mary) (May 4, 1962)

Today’s Readings:

Now, Master, you may let your servant go

in peace, according to your word,

for my eyes have seen your salvation,

which you prepared in the sight of all the peoples:

a light for revelation to the Gentiles,

and glory for your people Israel.” (Luke 2)

Prayer Meditation: O Lord on this special day when You were presented to Your Temple as the Light of the World, let us spread the Flame of Love in all hearts and souls so that Your Glory will be fully revealed on Earth! Come Holy Spirit, Come by the means of the Flame of Love of the Immaculate Heart of Mary! Let’s spread the Flame from heart to heart today!

Tough Crowd —

Tough Crowd

Today’s Consuming Fire Meditation- – A Daily Dose of the Flame of Love Diary Served Up with Today’s Scriptures

Wednesday of the Fourth Week of Ordinary Time

Tough Crowd

Many people in your neighborhood have known you for years. You have fought your great battles before their eyes. (Mary) (November 19, 1962)

Today’s Readings: Jesus said to them,

“A prophet is not without honor except in his native place

and among his own kin and in his own house.”

So he was not able to perform any mighty deed there,

apart from curing a few sick people by laying his hands on them.

He was amazed at their lack of faith. (Mark 6)

Prayer Meditation- Lord, I think so many of us can relate to today’s Gospel. We all come from families and hometowns, people who have known us for years. They have watched us rise and fall and have formed opinions about us- they are familiar with who we are and where we have been. And then someday something changes- for many of us reading this that “something” may well be You in our lives! And as You change us our loved ones may not know what to make of us. Lord You know well the pain of being rejected by Your own family members and neighbors. Our Lady knows well what it is like to suffer these pains as well as She watched You almost run off a cliff (Luke 4:29) in the Gospel of Luke version of this story. Lord, today we pray for all of our families- that our family members would be open to Your Grace despite the fact that we hold Your Treasures in earthen vessels (2 Corinthians 4:7).

Rise — January 31, 2023

Rise

Memorial of Saint John Bosco

Rise!

“Because your soul has been purified of the anguish of doubts, you now have been given the power to rise to the heavenly Father and be immersed in the delightful and joyful contemplation of the Holy Trinity. (Jesus) (October 23-24, 1963)

Today’s Readings: He took the child by the hand and said to her, “Talitha koum,”

which means, “Little girl, I say to you, arise!” (Mark 5)

Prayer Meditation: Lord You so want to heal us and purify us of what is holding us back- illness, doubts, fears and anxieties, the stress of everyday life! Every day You call us to life abundant in You- to rise from the things that enemy has come to kill steal and destroy (John 10:10)! Lord take us by the hand today- say to us Rise! Lord may we come when You call!

Show and Tell — January 29, 2023

Show and Tell

Today’s Consuming Fire Meditation- – A Daily Dose of the Flame of Love Diary Served Up with Today’s Scriptures

Monday of the Fourth Week in Ordinary Time

Show and Tell

Jesus: “Do you know why I make you write about the different events in your life? Because these are reflections of My graces in your soul that you – I know it well – would never tell others. In this manner, I oblige you to write so all will see the Divine Work that I have done in your soul since your childhood” (July 24, 1965)

Today’s Readings: “Go home to your family and announce to them
all that the Lord in his pity has done for you.” (Mark 5)

Prayer Meditation- Lord, how can we ever repay You for Your Great Mercy towards us and how You have set us free from sin, misery and death! Lord You have given us supernatural life and have set us free from the chains that bound us! Each day through prayer, meditating on Your Word, and through the Sacraments guided by the Holy Spirit You have not left us orphans! Each day You are changing us into Your image from glory to glory to glory (2 Corinthians 3:18)! Lord help us to show and tell through our words and deeds all that You have done for us!

No Matter How Small — January 28, 2023

No Matter How Small

Today’s Consuming Fire Meditation- – A Daily Dose of the Flame of Love Diary Served Up with Today’s Scriptures

Fourth Sunday in Ordinary Time

No Matter How Small

“You, little spark, no matter how small you are, were created by Me and from Me. Draw close to Me without fear.” (Jesus) (August 21, 1962)

Today’s Readings: Rather, God chose the foolish of the world to shame the wise,
and God chose the weak of the world to shame the strong,
and God chose the lowly and despised of the world,
those who count for nothing,
to reduce to nothing those who are something,
so that no human being might boast before God (1 Corinthians 1)

Prayer Meditation- O Lord we can feel so small and insignificant and begin to wonder who are we that You would be mindful of us (Psalm 8:4)! We are foolish and weak in our own eyes and in the eyes of the world yet You chose us to be Your Children! Our Lady has told Elizabeth that it is through the humble and little that the great outpouring of grace of the Flame of Love will shake the world! Lord help us to walk the little way of darkness as we walk by faith and not by sight (2 Corinthians 5:7).

Bending In The Wind —

Bending In The Wind

Today’s Consuming Fire Meditation- – A Daily Dose of the Flame of Love Diary Served Up with Today’s Scriptures

Memorial of Saint Thomas Aquinas

Bending In The Wind

Whoever serve Me, My little one, cannot be a reed bending in the wind. She must persevere firmly at My side with an unshakeable determination. (Jesus) (February 4, 1963)

Today’s Readings: He woke up,
rebuked the wind, and said to the sea, “Quiet! Be still!”
The wind ceased and there was great calm.
Then he asked them, “Why are you terrified?
Do you not yet have faith?” (Mark 4)

Prayer Meditation- O Lord we are so often reeds bending in the wind at the slightest puff of trouble! In the storms of life big or small we despair of Your Help even though we know You are there sleeping in our small boats! Lord give us unshakable faith and determination even when it seems we are sinking because You are always at our sides!

Sowing Seeds — January 27, 2023

Sowing Seeds

Today’s Consuming Fire Meditation- – A Daily Dose of the Flame of Love Diary Served Up with Today’s Scriptures

Friday of the Third Week of Ordinary Time

Sowing Seeds

If, eventually, you ask to speak and it is granted to you, may my power be with you. Let each word be like a seed planted so those listening produce an abundant harvest. (Mary) (July 26, 1971)

Today’s Readings: Jesus said to the crowds:

“This is how it is with the Kingdom of God;

it is as if a man were to scatter seed on the land

and would sleep and rise night and day

and the seed would sprout and grow,

he knows not how. (Mark 4)

Prayer Meditation: O Lord, we do not know how the seed will grow or where it will take root, that is not our job. Our job is to be faithful to planting the seeds to spread Your Kingdom here on Earth. Mary’s Flame of Love will ignite many hearts so let The Spirit speak through us when the time is right (Matthew 10) as we sow the seeds of Your Kingdom here on Earth as it is in Heaven!

Stir Into Flame — January 26, 2023

Stir Into Flame

Today’s Consuming Fire Meditation- – A Daily Dose of the Flame of Love Diary Served Up with Today’s Scriptures

Memorial of Saints Timothy and Titus

Not For Sissies- Stir Into Flame

Suffer with courage, perseverance and sincere abandonment. All that you can do for Me on Earth is meritorious (Jesus) (July 24, 1963)

Today’s Readings:

For this reason, I remind you to stir into flame

the gift of God that you have through the imposition of my hands.

For God did not give us a spirit of cowardice

but rather of power and love and self-control. (2 Timothy 1)

Prayer Meditation: O Lord You did not give us a spirit of fear but of power, love and self- control. Stir the Flame of Love in us so that we will persevere in the work You have given us no matter how small it may seem in the natural- every sacrifice and prayer offered is for the love of You and the salvation of souls. Lord, my mother always told me that this life is not for sissies- give us courage to know and do Your will in the present moment even if we are doing it afraid!

Blinded By The Light — January 25, 2023

Blinded By The Light

Today’s Consuming Fire Meditation- – A Daily Dose of the Flame of Love Diary Served Up with Today’s Scriptures

Feast of the Conversion of Saint Paul

Blinded By The Light

As I was kneeling silently before the Lord, a great brightness shone before my spiritual eyes, but I could not see it clearly. It was like a living light which sparkled and sent out small flashing particles in every direction. These particles were smaller than a grain of dust. Nevertheless, even the smallest particle shone with a great flash. (Elizabeth) (May 2, 1962)

Today’s Readings: On his journey, as he was nearing Damascus,

a light from the sky suddenly flashed around him.

He fell to the ground and heard a voice saying to him,

“Saul, Saul, why are you persecuting me?”

He said, “Who are you, sir?”

The reply came, “I am Jesus, whom you are persecuting.(Acts 9)

Prayer Meditation- Lord as I spent time in prayer with You this morning meditating on this well known and loved conversion story of Saint Paul it struck me that he was blinded by Love, Your Flame of Love! Lord, some of us may have had conversion experiences like this where suddenly the scales fall from our eyes. Many of us do not have some “I’ve seen the light” experience but our hearts are illumined by Your Light of Love little by little, maybe kneeling in prayer, spending more and more time seeking Your Face. In any event, when the Your Light hits the darkness of our lives, we are never the same! There is a movie called Full of Grace about the life of Mary after the Ascension. My favorite line is when Mary tells the Apostles whatever they do in their lives to always remember that moment when we felt Your Gaze and saw Your Face! And if we haven’t felt Your Gaze yet, Lord give us faith to ask for this Grace! Because nothing is ever the same after hearts are set on fire with the Flame of Your Love! And if we have forgotten about that moment Lord we ask You to remind us of who we are in You! Lord, like Paul let us now proceed because You have made us Your own. Forgetting what lies behind and straining forward to what lies ahead we press on toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus (Philippians 3:12-14).
