Of Flutes And Dirges

Of Flutes And Dirges

Today’s Consuming Fire Meditation- – A Daily Dose of the Flame of Love Diary Served Up with Today’s Scriptures

Wednesday of the Twenty Fourth Week of Ordinary Time

Of Flutes and Dirges

Mary: “The greater the miracles, my little one, the fewer those who believed in me. I asked for the First Saturdays and they never heeded my request. I am your gentle and understanding Mother. United with you, I will save you. (Mary) (April 13, 1962)

Today’s Readings: Jesus said to the crowds:
“To what shall I compare the people of this generation?
What are they like?
They are like children who sit in the marketplace and call to one another,

‘We played the flute for you, but you did not dance.
We sang a dirge, but you did not weep.’ (Luke 7)

Prayer Meditation- O Lord, we love You we bless You and we adore You because You have shown us so many miracles during Your Public Life and through Your Church. The Sacraments themselves are Your Miracles as our are very lives! And yet we are so indifferent, we do so little in response or even worse, we respond with a complaining and a critical spirit. Like the generation who crossed the Red Sea and then complained for forty years in the desert. O Lord we are so blind and ignorant stuck in our own little minds. Lord help us to see the evidence of Your love all around! Lord may we unite with Your Holy Mother as She shows us how to respond with love to the Love that never lets us go!

God Has Visited His People

“It is to the warm solidarity of the family sanctuary that souls come back to, after having strayed far. It is there that they come to find themselves and they once more return to God.. Do not think that once a child has become an adult, he no longer needs his parents. (Jesus) (January 17, 1964)

Today’s Readings: A large crowd from the city was with her. When the Lord saw her, he was moved with pity for her and said to her, “Do not weep.” (Luke 7)

Prayer Meditation- Lord today in this beautiful Gospel, and in Your words to Elizabeth Kindelmann and to us, You remind us mothers that we have a huge responsibility to bring our families to You. We can think so many of our circumstances are too far gone- that our prayers are bouncing off the chapel walls and our little prayer corners at home where we indeed weep. Yet Lord, nothing is impossible for You and Your plan for us and our children is so much bigger than we can ask of think. You have a plan for them which is a future full of hope (Jeremiah 29:11)  O  Lord, visit Your people, visit our families and heal them and call our children back to Your Loving Care! Through the intercession of Saint Monica and Our Blessed Mother we bring You our families!

Memorial of Our Lady of Sorrows

Taking Mary into Our Homes

My Mother accompanied Me everywhere with her love, her sacrifices and her prayers. You must do the same, and I will bless your efforts. (Jesus) (January 17, 1964)

Today’s Readings: When Jesus saw his mother and the disciple there whom he loved he said to his mother, “Woman, behold, your son.” Then he said to the disciple, “Behold, your mother.” And from that hour the disciple took her into his home. (John 19)

Prayer Meditation- Lord, Your Holy Mother and ours followed You everywhere with love, sacrifices, and prayers. She is the model disciple and Our Most Loving Mother! Lord, You have given us Your Mother who stood by the Cross and who shared in the participation of Your Sacrifice on the Cross. She also shared in Your Resurrection- weeping turned into joy! Because as long as the deep dark night can seem, joy always comes in the morning! (Psalm 30:5). Lord, thank You for Your Beautiful Mother and ours- there is nothing that we will ever go through that She would not understand- there is no circumstance in life that She will not stand by us and pray fervently for us to You. Even today, Mary calls us through Her various apparitions around the world- crying because She will not rest until all of Her Children are home! Lord, open our hearts that we would take into our homes Our Mother- let us stand with Her at the Cross and keep her company as She brings us ever closer to You! Sorrowful and Immaculate Heart of Mary pray for us- take us deep into Your Heart and unite us to the Sacred Heart of Jesus!

For God So Loved The World

Today’s Consuming Fire Meditation- – A Daily Dose of the Flame of Love Diary Served Up with Today’s Scriptures

Feast of the Exaltation of the Cross

For God So Loved The World

Did I not shed all the drops of My Blood for all of you? My Will is to save everyone. (Jesus) (August 13, 1965)

Today’s Readings:

For God so loved the world that he gave his only Son, so that everyone who believes in him might not perish but might have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world might be saved through him. (John 3)

Prayer Meditation: O Lord You so loved the world that You gave Your only Begotten Son so that we can have everlasting life! You did not come to condemn us but to save us! How can we not take up our crosses and follow You- only You have the Words of Eternal Life!

Blind Leading The Blind — September 11, 2025

Blind Leading The Blind

Blind Leading The Blind

Today’s Consuming Fire Meditation- – A Daily Dose of the Flame of Love Diary Served Up with Today’s Scriptures

Friday of the Twenty Third Week of Ordinary Time

Blind Leading The Blind

Jesus: “In your soul, blindness and light will alternate just as the night alternates with the day. I will not change this. Just abandon yourself to Me. In all things, My Will shall prevail. Be attentive and wait until I give you the signal to begin.” (Jesus) (January 20, 1963)

Today’s Readings: Jesus told his disciples a parable:
“Can a blind person guide a blind person?
Will not both fall into a pit?
No disciple is superior to the teacher;
but when fully trained,
every disciple will be like his teacher (Jesus) (Luke 6)

Prayer Meditation- Lord it seems that most of the time we can be so blind. It seems like the illumination in our minds can be fleeting and most days we are just groping in the dark. Sometimes in our blindness ,if we are not abandoned and united to You, we can go ways that seem good to us but that lead to destruction (Proverbs 16) leading others with us into the pit. How can we take the splinter out of our brother’s eye when we got a huge log in ours (Luke 6)? But Lord we trust always that You are directing our steps (Psalm 37). We will not have full light in our souls until we are united with You in Glory, so let us take these times of darkness and hold firmly to Your Hand, not going to the right or the left, (Proverbs 4). Let us be  abandoned in Your Arms and in Your Will and attentive to Your promptings.

May Our Feet Journey Together- All Belongs To God

“September 11—I was weeding in the garden. “Of course. Instead of thinking that you are working for yourself, why not think that it is for Me all day long. My meals, My walks, My garden, My room, My mending. Won’t that be more tender? Won’t it be balm for you?””

— He and I by Gabrielle Bossis

17 And whatever you do, in word or deed, do everything in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him. (Colossians 3:17)

17 But Jesus answered them, “My Father is working still, and I am working.” (John 5:17)

Commit your work to the Lord,
and your plans will be established. (Proverbs 16:3)

Prayer Reflection- Lord we thank You that we can work together with You each day. Please breathe in our breathing, speaking in our speaking, think in our thinking, work in our working!

Do It All With Jesus — September 10, 2025

Do It All With Jesus

Do It All With Jesus

Thursday of the Twenty Third Week of Ordinary Time

Do It All With Jesus

“O Lord, my will is Yours. Do Your work in me.” (Elizabeth) (April 8, 1962)

Today’s Readings: Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly,
as in all wisdom you teach and admonish one another,
singing psalms, hymns, and spiritual songs
with gratitude in your hearts to God.
And whatever you do, in word or in deed,
do everything in the name of the Lord Jesus,
giving thanks to God the Father through him. (Colossians 3)

Prayer Meditation- Lord Jesus, we love You. Lord today we are reminded that no matter what we do each day, our work and our leisure time, we are to do everything in Your Name and with gratitude. In fact, You told Elizabeth Kindelmann that we must share in Your Work of Redemption totally united to You and without interruption (March4-7 1962). You want to do everything through us united to You- that laundry we need to do, that report we need to finish, that grandchild that needs babysitting, that volunteer time at Church. All of it united to You for Your Glory and to bring mercy, salvation, and sanctification of all souls. You came to Earth and redid all of our human acts and work in Your Divine Will- You sanctified the work of our hands. Lord Jesus, breathe in our breathing, speak in our speaking, think in our thinking, work in our working- not in our wills but in Yours!

May Our Feet Journey Together- One Holy Moment At A Time! —

May Our Feet Journey Together- One Holy Moment At A Time!

““Why should you begrudge the help you give your neighbors. Don’t forget that in serving them you are serving Me. That should give you courage, and you’ll need great courage to become holy. Never lose sight of the goal: holiness; that means to be always in readiness for Me, to belong to Me utterly. It’s so very simple; believe Me. Would I ever ask anything that was too difficult for you? Just live in My love—holy, one moment at a time. Drive out all worries, all idle dreaming. Don’t complicate things. Give Me your soul simply. I am all simplicity.”

— He and I by Gabrielle Bossis

40 And the King will answer them, ‘Truly, I say to you, as you did it to one of the least of these my brethren, you did it to me.’ (Matthew 25:40)

13 Brethren, I do not consider that I have made it my own; but one thing I do, forgetting what lies behind and straining forward to what lies ahead, 14 I press on toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus. (Philippians 3:13-14)

10 For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them. (Ephesians 2:10

Prayer Reflection- O Lord You give us such beautiful words today about loving and serving others as if we were serving You and living holiness one moment at a time. Help us to live in Your Love without anxiety. We make things so complicated but You are simplicity itself and You never ask anything too difficult for us if are walking with You!

Put Them All Away — September 9, 2025

Put Them All Away

Put Them All Away

Today’s Consuming Fire Meditation- – A Daily Dose of the Flame of Love Diary Served Up with Today’s Scriptures

Wednesday of the Twenty Third Week in Ordinary Time

Put Them All Away

Mary: “The resistance against my words comes from your human doubts. By these doubts, you limit your soul’s capacity to act. This causes you spiritual harm. If you do not put them away, they will destroy your abandonment to us.” (Mary) (January 24, 1963)

Today’s Readings: But now you must put them all away:
anger, fury, malice, slander,
and obscene language out of your mouths.
Stop lying to one another,
since you have taken off the old self with its practices
and have put on the new self,
which is being renewed, for knowledge,
in the image of its creator. (Colossians 3)

Prayer Meditation- Lord, the theme today is putting away- we are full of doubts, anxieties, yes even sins of thought, word, and deed. We resist Your Grace- the only thing that can change us. And by putting up these little fights in our human will we are only hurting ourselves and limiting what You can do in us and through us. Yes, we must put them all away- anger, gossip,  any deliberate venial sins and attachments that keep us from taking off the old self and putting on the new self which is You fully alive in us!  Lord purify our intentions and our hearts as we  abandons ourselves to You!

He Nailed It To The Cross — September 8, 2025

He Nailed It To The Cross

He Nailed It To The Cross

Today’s Consuming Fire Meditation- – A Daily Dose of the Flame of Love Diary Served Up with Today’s Scriptures

Memorial of Saint Peter Claver

He Nailed It To The Cross

For this, I have sweated blood. For this, I was crowned with thorns. I let Myself be nailed to the wood of the Cross. I endured unspeakable suffering.” (Jesus) (May 1962)

Today’s Readings: And even when you were dead in transgressions and the uncircumcision of your flesh, he brought you to life along with him, having forgiven us all our transgressions; obliterating the bond against us, with its legal claims, which was opposed to us, he also removed it from our midst, nailing it to the cross; (Colossians 2)

Prayer Meditation- Lord, You have nailed to the Holy Cross all of our transgressions! So why Lord do we walk around still in chains? Are we afraid to go to the Sacrament of Reconciliation because of some deep hidden sin  that we feel that God will never forgive? Go and be healed, He nailed it to The Cross!  Are we afraid to let go of anxiety and fear, our need for control, our lack of trust in Divine Providence? Let it go, He nailed it to The Cross! Is there anything holding you back from complete freedom- unforgiveness, bad habits and addictions, any malady of the heart? Take it to The Cross through His Word, Prayer, and the Sacraments- He has nailed it all to The Cross!
