Friday of the Second Week of Advent

He is Teaching- Are You Listening

From time to time, He would say a few words. He knows very well that I listen to each of his words as a prayer. I constantly reflect on His teaching. Today, it happened the same way. (Elizabeth) (March 4, 1966)

Today’s Readings: I, the LORD, your God,
teach you what is for your good,
and lead you on the way you should go. (Isaiah 48)

Prayer Meditation- Lord, we learn in Isaiah today in the First Reading that You are always teaching. You are always teaching us what is for our good and to lead us on the way we should go. You do this in Your Word, and through Your Church and in Your Holy Inspirations. But Lord, are we listening? Because in the Gospel we see that You taught through John the Baptist and You taught by Your Incarnation and living among us with Your sermons and Your miracles and all the people could do was to find a reason to complain and a reason not to believe. Lord, why do we do that? Why do we pay no heed to Your words to us and then complain that we are all alone and that You have abandoned us. Today, let us not do this! In whatever circumstance we may find ourselves, whatever suffering whether it was allowed by You or brought on ourselves by our own brokenness let us get quiet today so that we can hear Your Voice in our hearts. You are teaching-help us to listen!

Fear Not!

“Tell Me, little sister, why do you consider yourself alone since I am the One leading you? Have no fear, I will not let go of you. Come, let us go together and let there be no other moment when you would feel alone.” (Jesus) (January 25, 1966)

Today’s Readings: I am the LORD, your God, who grasp your right hand; It is I who say to you, “Fear not, I will help you.” (Isaiah 41)

Prayer Meditation- Lord, we can often feel so alone- we wonder where You are in the storms of life. Sometimes You, the Teacher are quiet while we are taking the tests of life. But Lord, You have promised that You will never leave or forsake us! You grasp our right hands and whisper to us to fear not! Let there be no moment in our lives that we should ever feel abandoned but let us come to You with humble trust and surrender!

Stumbling Into Holiness

You did not make yourself worthy. I, God, thought you worthy of your call. Even one instant is too much for you to be occupied with something else. My love does not rest. May our thoughts be as one!” (Jesus) (August 30, 1964)

Today’s Readings: Jesus said to the crowds: “Come to me, all you who labor and are burdened, and I will give you rest.  Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am meek and humble of heart; and you will find rest for yourselves.  For my yoke is easy, and my burden light.” (Matthew 11)

Prayer Meditation- Lord, like the first reading today in Isaiah 40 we do run and grow weary, we walk, and not only do we faint, we stumble and fall. We work in our own power to somehow be good enough, to measure up, even for those of us on a spiritual path to make ourselves holy. We are literally tripping on our own feet! You see all of this and You say to us today enough! You call to us to come to You, all who are labored, burdened, just plain worn out and sick and tired of being sick and tired and You ask us to turn in that worn out yoke for a brand new one of Your making. Because we do not make ourselves good or holy- only You do when we surrender ourselves to Your Divine Will, the sacrament of the Present Moment which includes our duties to You and to our state in life and loving acceptance of all that comes to us through Your Hands for our good! Thank You Jesus for stepping into this holiday madness with Your Word in the Gospel today- let us have ears to hear!

How Does This Happen That The Mother of Our  Lord Should Come To Us

“As you see, I am honoring you again. At your request, I come to bless your family and the whole neighborhood. I have brought My peace. Trust! Do not give way to discouragement! I unite your sufferings to my merits.(Jesus) (April 14, 1964)

Today’s Readings: “Most blessed are you among women,
and blessed is the fruit of your womb.
And how does this happen to me,
that the mother of my Lord should come to me? (Luke 1)

Prayer Meditation- How is it Lord, that Your Mother, Our Mother comes to us? She came with haste to help Elizabeth her cousin and She comes with haste when we call. She has been coming to Earth to help us in her various apparitions including Our Lady of Guadalupe. If we want to know Her Heart which is in union with Your Heart we only have to ponder the following comforting words to St. Juan Diego- Am I not here, I who am your Mother? Are you not under my shadow and protection? Am 1 not the source of your joy? Are you not in the hollow of my mantle, in the crossing of my arms? Do you need something more? Let nothing else worry you or disturb you. Let us meditate today on the Heart of Our Mother and take Her into our hearts and our homes!

Monday of the Second Week of Advent

A Journey to Make

“I grasp your hands. I will go with you. May our feet journey together.” (Jesus) (November 29, 1962)

Today’s Readings: It is for those with a journey to make, and on it the redeemed will walk. Those whom the LORD has ransomed will return and enter Zion singing, crowned with everlasting joy; They will meet with joy and gladness, sorrow and mourning will flee. (Isaiah 35)

Prayer Meditation- Lord, sometimes it is so easy to forget that it is indeed a journey we make to You and Your Kingdom. We want instant restoration and healing but that is usually not how life is and not the way You work in souls. You work in us little by little, changing us from glory to glory! So let us be patient with ourselves and realize we have a journey to make in this world to You- we are redeemed by Your Blood and we will enter our heavenly Zion singing with everlasting joy and gladness and all sorrow and mourning will flee. And on the way, we sing with joy and praise because we are never alone but Your Feet journey together with us and You take us by Your Loving Hand!

Today’s Consuming Fire Meditation- – A Daily Dose of the Flame of Love Diary Served Up with Today’s Scriptures

Second Sunday of Advent

Comfort to My People

He filled my soul with the strength of His grace. I cannot express the Lord’s words any more. I have written these words to record how the Lord’s goodness comforts me in my difficult hours. (Elizabeth) (October 15, 1962)

Today’s Readings: Comfort, give comfort to my people, says your God. Speak tenderly to Jerusalem, and proclaim to her that her service is at an end, her guilt is expiated; indeed, she has received from the hand of the LORD double for all her sins. (Isaiah 40)

Prayer Meditation- Lord, sometimes when we think about things of the past, regrets, sins, where we went off the rails it can fill us with such despair. But Lord You did not come to condemn us (John 3) but to redeem us and heal us of our deep wounds. You whisper to us comfort, peace, whatever it is brought to You in true sorrow and contrition- it is over!  You remember our sins no more (Isaiah 43)! So this Advent let us take a deep breath and a long look at ourselves and bring all that is tying us in knots to the Throne of Grace (Hebrews 4) in the confessional if we need to, and we all need to. And after we do that, as they say in Brooklyn fugedaboutit! Because You already have!

Saturday of the First Week of Advent

Christ Our Strength

Use all your strength to bring sinners to me. Give no thought to anything else. With your entire soul, desire that My consecrated souls always look upon Me and are never distracted by worldly things. They must see My sorrowful eyes and be immersed in Me. If they look into My eyes with a repentant heart, I will make them holier with the rays of My grace. By plunging them into the love of My Heart, I will give them new birth provided they trust Me fully. (Jesus) (April 8, 1962)

Today’s Readings:
The harvest is abundant but the laborers are few; so ask the master of the harvest to send out laborers for his harvest.” (Matthew 9)

Prayer Meditation- O Lord, we may be few, those of us who respond to Your Call but even in our weakness we are actually working in Your Strength! The harvest seems even greater now in this world of growing darkness but You desire that we give all we have to bring the lost to You. O Lord we need laborers who are on fire with the Flame of Your Love! O Lord we know You will be gracious to all who cry out to You (Isaiah 30) May our hearts also be moved with pity for all the troubled and abandoned in this world (Matthew 9) because a bruised reed You will not break! (Isaiah 42). Break our hearts for what breaks Yours!

Solemnity of the Immaculate Conception of the Blessed Virgin Mary

Holy And Without Blemish

“I want you not just to know my name, but to know also the Flame of Love of my maternal heart beating for you. I entrusted you with the task of making known this burning love. That is why you must be very humble. Such a grace as this has only been granted to only very few. Hold such great grace in high esteem.(Mary) (September 29, 1962)

Today’s Readings: Brothers and sisters:

Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us in Christ with every spiritual blessing in the heavens, as he chose us in him, before the foundation of the world, to be holy and without blemish before him. (Ephesians 1)

Prayer Meditation- On this beautiful day celebrating Our Beautiful Mother we rejoice in the Immaculate Conception and also Her Immaculate Heart joined to Yours that loves us so much with burning charity! She wants us all to be saved and to one day be like Her, Holy and Blameless! Lord may we be the humble little ones who cling to Our Mother who always brings us ever closer to You! Mary, Queen of Peace, pray for us!

Memorial of Saint Ambrose

On Christ The Solid Rock I Stand- All Other Ground is Sinking Sand

We constantly hurt Him by our many sins. He, in spite of everything, is always kind. He said: “I bless this house that is consecrated to My Sacred Heart.” (Elizabeth) (August 16, 1962)

Today’s Readings: “Everyone who listens to these words of mine and acts on them
will be like a wise man who built his house on rock.
The rain fell, the floods came,
and the winds blew and buffeted the house.
But it did not collapse; it had been set solidly on rock. (Matthew 7)

Prayer Meditation- Lord, we often build our houses not on the Rock of Your Love but on the sinking sand of what the world tells us should be our foundation. And then we are confused when it all falls apart- the rains, the floods, and the winds come and we have no foundation. Thank You Jesus that we can turn to You in spite of everything because a humble contrite heart You will not spurn (Psalm 51). Lord, let us build our houses, our lives, on You the Solid Rock on which we stand- all other ground is sinking sand! Jesus we trust in You!

Wednesday of the First Week of Advent

Pity For The Crowd

“How good of You to come! Truly, You do not despise me. Because I am a sinner, You double Your strength in me. What goodness, what limitless compassion You have for a repentant sinner.” For a long time, I gave thanks for His infinite mercy. (Elizabeth) (November 22, 1962)

Today’s Readings: Jesus summoned his disciples and said,
“My heart is moved with pity for the crowd,
for they have been with me now for three days
and have nothing to eat.
I do not want to send them away hungry,
for fear they may collapse on the way.” (Matthew 15)

Prayer Meditation- Lord, today we are reminded that You indeed have pity on us. There is nothing that escapes Your Loving Gaze into our hearts. There is no need that You do not understand and want to fill. You have true loving concern for us in every moment of our lives! What goodness, what limitless compassion You have for those who love You and what mercy is awaiting those who do not yet know Your Love! Lord Jesus, be born in our hearts this Advent season and in the hearts of those we love and bring to You every day in prayer!
