Saturday of the Thirty Third Week of Ordinary Time

Like Angels

“When your body leaves the earth, you will enjoy this glory with Me, impacting favorably on the souls living on earth. Repeat frequently with the angels, ‘Glory to God’. (Jesus) (Compendium Page 94- Read Online at flameoflove.us)

Today’s Readings: They can no longer die,
for they are like angels;
and they are the children of God
because they are the ones who will rise. (Luke 20)

Prayer Meditation- Lord, today in answer to a cynical question from the Sadducees, You answered so beautifully about what Heaven will be like. Not that we can really know here on Earth but we are assured that eye has not seen nor has ear heard what You have prepared for those who love You (1 Corinthians 2:9-11). We know that You have prepared a place for us (John 14:3) so that we would live with You forever. In the Gospel, we hear that we will not die but live like angels because we are the children of God- those who will rise. So let us sing with the angels today, Glory to God in the Highest, as we hold on to Your Promises! We are Yours and You will never let us go!

Hanging On His Words

I was hanging on His words. It is as if I were barely able to put them in any order in my thoughts. When He mentioned my person and spoke of my work as something important, destined to complement the work of the Holy Father, doubts emerged in my soul. (Elizabeth) (February 29, 1964)

Today’s Readings: The chief priests, the scribes, and the leaders of the people, meanwhile, were seeking to put him to death, but they could find no way to accomplish their purpose because all the people were hanging on his words.(Luke 19)

Prayer Meditation- Lord, You speak to us all the time through Your Word, through prayer, and through the Liturgy but are we listening? Are we hanging on Your Words, or are we deaf to them like those leaders whose hearts were so hardened to You? Do we even seek to put those Words to death so to speak by avoiding those things You might say that would overturn those things in our life that just don’t belong in the temple of the Holy Spirit  that You want us to be? Lord soften our hearts so we can hear and hang on those loving Words of Yours daily.

Thanksgiving Day

Fashioned According to His Will

He told me to live a life pleasing to God and that His Will will become clear for me. With this advice, peace returned to my soul and I experienced a day of great joy. (Elizabeth) (January 18-19 1963)

Today’s Readings: And now, bless the God of all,
who has done wondrous things on earth;
Who fosters people’s growth from their mother’s womb,
and fashions them according to his will!
(Sirach 50)

Prayer Meditation- Lord, today we come to You with thanksgiving! With gratitude in our hearts, we thank You most of all for being a God who cares for us and fosters our growth from our mother’s womb and fashions us, if we cooperate, according to Your Will. To live a life pleasing to God with peace and joy we must first of all be grateful for all that You have given us. Let us count our blessings not only today but every day and surrender each day with gratitude to Your Holy Will which is Love and Mercy itself!

Taken Away

Time is short, little sister, and never returns. What you do not accept at a given moment will never again become available to you, because I think that you would not receive it willingly. (Jesus) (July 24, 1963)

Today’s Readings: And to those standing by he said,
‘Take the gold coin from him
and give it to the servant who has ten.’
But they said to him,
‘Sir, he has ten gold coins.’
He replied, ‘I tell you,
to everyone who has, more will be given,
but from the one who has not,
even what he has will be taken away. (Luke 19)

Prayer Meditation- Lord, this parable terrifies me not just a little bit. How many times do we bury Your Grace and Your Blessings which can come to us in many forms, even sufferings, instead of turning them into the pure gold that saves our souls and the souls of others. Lord, You have given us all sufficient grace for the seasons of life we are in. And You have given to each of us a task that is uniquely ours to accomplish- time is short and it never returns. Lord may we receive willingly what You are offering us in every moment be it joy or pain- let us not be the ones who do not have the faith to persevere, but let us be the ones receive every blessing You have to give us at every moment of our lives!

Memorial of the Presentation of Mary

Sing and Rejoice O Daughter Zion

Human words cannot express what I have prepared for all of you. I await your arrival with a rich gift. My Heart will rejoice at your arrival. (Jesus) (October 4, 1962)

Today’s Readings: Sing and rejoice, O daughter Zion!
See, I am coming to dwell among you, says the LORD.
Many nations shall join themselves to the LORD on that day,
and they shall be his people,
and he will dwell among you,
and you shall know that the LORD of hosts has sent me to you. (Zechariah 2)

Prayer Meditation- Today we celebrate the presentation of Our Lady in the Temple! Our Lady by tradition lived in the Temple from the age of three years old and she entered the Temple with joy united to Your Holy and Divine Will! Our Lady can indeed sing and rejoice because with Her prayers in the Temple she yearned and longed for the coming Messiah, having no idea She would be the Mother of God! And with Our Blessed Mother we can long and pray for the coming of Your Kingdom through the Flame of Love of the Immaculate Heart of Mary. Let us present ourselves today to You in prayer and thanksgiving because human words cannot express what You have prepared for those who love You! (1 Corinthians 2:9)

Today’s Consuming Fire Meditation- – A Daily Dose of the Flame of Love Diary Served Up with Today’s Scriptures

Monday of the Thirty Third Week of Ordinary Time

Jesus of Nazareth is Passing By

“In spite of your great infidelity, I call to you with love. You no longer come with confidence. I redeemed you from eternal death. Now, you do not want to live with Me. You are content with the passing things of the earth.” (Jesus) (October 11, 1962)

Today’s Readings: They told him,
“Jesus of Nazareth is passing by.”
He shouted, “Jesus, Son of David, have pity on me!” (Luke 18)

Prayer Meditation- Lord, in today’s Gospel we read that You are passing by. In fact, You are always among us, You are indeed always “passing by”. Lord what is our response? Do we cry out. Lord Jesus, have mercy on me with bold and confident trust fully understanding our own helplessness? Or do we remain content with the passing things of this world? Yes, Jesus, have mercy on me a sinner- I want what You want for me today and every day!

Under the Mantle of the Proverbs 31 Woman — November 18, 2023

Under the Mantle of the Proverbs 31 Woman

Today’s Consuming Fire Meditation- – A Daily Dose of the Flame of Love Diary Served Up with Today’s Scriptures

Thirty Third Sunday in Ordinary Time

Under the Mantle of the Proverbs 31 Woman

“Ponder deeply this vocation to which you were raised due solely to the dignity of being a mother. Maternal dignity is at the same time a vocation saturated with sufferings, and that is what I share with you. I thank you, my little one, for your participation that is continual and filled with sacrifices. I, as a loving Mother, can assure you of your heavenly reward.” (Mary) (August 27, 1964)

Today’s Readings: Charm is deceptive and beauty fleeting; the woman who fears the LORD is to be praised. Give her a reward for her labors, and let her works praise her at the city gates. (Proverbs 31)

Prayer Meditation- Lord, when I was a Methodist I would read Proverbs 31 and just feel convicted and maybe a little intimidated. What woman could ever measure up to that- juggling motherhood, marriage, career and trying to be a good Christian I would feel a little defeated as I looked at my messy house, my desk piled high, and my chaotic family schedule. But I was always fascinated by this Proverbs 31 woman and I took heart that You loved women so much and saw what we could be.  I really just wanted to be her somehow. Becoming Catholic and going through Total Consecration to Jesus through Mary- well it hit me like a ton of bricks. Mary is the Proverbs 31 Woman- and guess what She is in our side and She has us under Her Mantle. We are the Children who call Her Blessed and She keeps working to bring us all to Heaven! So Lord, let us not bury our talents in the ground, afraid that we will never measure up, but entrust ourselves to Our Blessed Mother who with the Holy Spirit will form Jesus in us so that we will take all the talents we have been given and multiply them for Your Glory!

Calling Out Day and Night

Jesus asked, “Cannot I work a miracle?” “But I am not worthy, Lord.” “Nevertheless, I will work a miracle. I will so bless the problem which seems impossible that all will be straightened out.” (Jesus) (August 3, 1962)

Today’s Readings: The Lord said, “Pay attention to what the dishonest judge says.
Will not God then secure the rights of his chosen ones
who call out to him day and night?
Will he be slow to answer them? (Luke 18)

Prayer Meditation- Lord, how often we are afraid to ask for what we really need. We say the same little prayers each day afraid to ask for the big things we really need with faith and trust. We speak but we do not release our faith. Yet, this is not how You asked us to pray in the Gospels. You want us to call out to You day and night- to pray from the heart! More than anything Lord, You respond to humble and contrite hearts that pour themselves out to You like a little child to her Abba Father! Let us depend on You because without You we have nothing. Let us depend on Your Holy Will which is love and mercy itself!

Memorial of Saint Elizabeth of Hungary, Religious

Ark Of The Covenant

While Our Lady spoke about Carmel, the Lord interrupted, “My Mother is Noah’s Ark.” He often said this. (Elizabeth) (Simplified Diary Page 118)

Today’s Readings: As it was in the days of Noah, so it will be in the days of the Son of Man; they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage up to the day that Noah entered the ark, and the flood came and destroyed them all. (Luke 17)

Prayer Meditation- Lord, these times are so dark and confusing. Many can predict many things but the truth is we know not the day or the hour that You may call us individually or as a world to the new creation You have meant us to be (Matthew 24:36). But one thing we know for sure  is that while we live, there is one Ark we can count on- the Ark of the Immaculate Heart of Mary. She will always point the way to You and to an ever closer and deeper walk with You! Lord, let us take up our weapons- prayer, Rosary, scapular, Sacraments, and Sacred Scripture as we follow our General, fair as the moon, bright as the sun, and terrible in battle array into the Ark of Safety in this life no matter what storm is surrounding us. To Jesus through Mary!

Today’s Consuming Fire Meditation- – A Daily Dose of the Flame of Love Diary Served Up with Today’s Scriptures

Thursday of the Thirty Second Week of Ordinary Time

Thy Kingdom Come

“Each night, My little one, ask yourself what you have done for the coming of My Kingdom. Never be content with yourself. There is no room on earth for self-satisfaction. (Jesus) (August 28, 1962)

Today’s Readings: Asked by the Pharisees when the Kingdom of God would come,
Jesus said in reply,
“The coming of the Kingdom of God cannot be observed,
and no one will announce, ‘Look, here it is,’ or, ‘There it is.’
For behold, the Kingdom of God is among you.” (Luke 17)

Prayer Meditation- Lord, sometimes I think, maybe because we have gotten so used to being entertained, that we expect Your Kingdom to be only big things. Thunder and lightning, fire and brimstone, some event that will come and really shake things up. And yes, someday, You will make all things new and there will be a new Heaven and a new Earth. Lord we are in the time of now but not yet. Because Your Kingdom of God is among us and has been since the Incarnation. Emmanuel- God with us! It is so easy to get discouraged in the darkness of living in the world because we are not yet seeing clearly (1 Corinthians 13). But Lord, You are among us in Your Word, in prayer, in the Sacraments, and in the “sacrament” of the present moment every moment of our lives. It is so easy to be complacent and accept mediocrity, but Lord help us to never be content but to seek You in all things so that we can then bring Your Kingdom to so many that are in desperate need of You!
