Every Little Prison

Every Little Prison

Today’s Consuming Fire Meditation- – A Daily Dose of the Flame of Love Diary Served Up with Today’s Scriptures

Friday of the Twenty Ninth Week of Ordinary Time

Every Little Prison

All can work for Me, the free man and the one suffering in prison. (Jesus) (May 24, 1963)

Today’s Readings: “Why do you not judge for yourselves what is right? If you are to go with your opponent before a magistrate, make an effort to settle the matter on the way; otherwise your opponent will turn you over to the judge, and the judge hand you over to the constable, and the constable throw you into prison. I say to you, you will not be released until you have paid the last penny.” (Luke 12)

Prayer Meditation- Lord, today’s Gospel speaks of seeing the signs of the times. Do we see You in our everyday lives? In our circumstances, in others, in those who need our help? Do we see You in everything or are we too distracted by the noise in our heads? Lord, so much of that noise is what keeps us in chains- resentments, unforgiveness, differences with others, stress and anxiety and our own failings and weaknesses. Are we ready to be free or are we content with every little prison that keeps us bound? Lord we can all work for You, in whatever circumstance we find ourselves even in illness, in the hospital, in nursing homes, and yes even in prison. Help us always to see You passing by and to recognize the time of Your Visitation in our lives! (Luke 19:44).

Led by The Spirit to Speak

“Do not be surprised, my little instrument, that you cannot speak eloquent words. I am the one who acts and who enkindles the Flame of Love in the depth of hearts. (Mary) (December 17, 1962)

Today’s Readings: When they take you before synagogues and before rulers and authorities, do not worry about how or what your defense will be or about what you are to say. For the Holy Spirit will teach you at that moment what you should say.” (Luke 12)

Prayer Meditation- Lord, so often we want to speak eloquent words in defense of the Faith or of You! Often we find ourselves tongue tied or confused especially when we meet opposition because we are trying to do this under our own power! Lord purify our hearts and minds and our speech- let Your Holy Spirit let us know when we should speak and when we should be quiet in humility. We are Your Instruments- Lord use us for Your Glory!

The Laborers Are Few — October 17, 2024

The Laborers Are Few

The Laborers Are Few

Today’s Consuming Fire Meditation- – A Daily Dose of the Flame of Love Diary Served Up with Today’s Scriptures

Feast of Saint Luke, Evangelist

The Laborers are Few

The souls that make reparation and faithfully follow My desires are so few.”(Jesus) (October 18, 1962)

Today’s Readings: He said to them,
“The harvest is abundant but the laborers are few;
so ask the master of the harvest
to send out laborers for his harvest. (Luke 10)

Prayer Meditation- Lord today we celebrate St. Luke. St. Luke’s Gospel ,of the four, is the Gospel of Your Mercy and Love and desire for healing for the lost and the broken. In the Gospel today we see the sending of the 72- today Lord You send us out today in this broken world, just a few laborers in an ever growing harvest of souls in need of Your Grace. Lord, help us to be the ones who make reparation and faithfully follow Your desires for the salvation of souls! Let us be merciful in our words and deeds and never discount the power of prayer and intercession to bring in the harvest of souls for You!

The Lord Has Made Known His Salvation — October 16, 2024

The Lord Has Made Known His Salvation

The Lord Has Made Known His Salvation

Today’s Consuming Fire Meditation- – A Daily Dose of the Flame of Love Diary Served Up with Today’s Scriptures

Memorial of Saint Ignatius of Antioch

The Lord Has Made Known His Salvation

“My Mother, why do you not work miracles like you did at Fatima so people may believe in you?” Mary: “The greater the miracles, my little one, the fewer those who believed in me. I asked for the First Saturdays and they never heeded my request. I am your gentle and understanding Mother. United with you, I will save you. (Elizabeth/Mary) (April 13, 1962)

Today’s Readings: The LORD has made his salvation known:
in the sight of the nations he has revealed his justice.
He has remembered his kindness and his faithfulness. (Psalm 98)

Prayer Meditation- Our Mother who has been coming more and more to Her Children like any good Mother would- to warn us, protect us, and save us. In Fatima, the last apparition brought with it a miracle- the Miracle of the Sun for the whole world to see thanks to the media of the time. Lord, You did indeed make salvation known in the sight of the nations! And yet, even after such a miracle, it was business as usual here on planet Earth. We did not heed Your Mother’s request for First Saturdays- for prayer and sacrifice including the Rosary. And yet Lord, You do not give up on Your kindness and Your faithfulness. Even in these sad times, You have given us the lifeboat- the Flame of Love of the Immaculate Heart of Mary, the Ark of Safety for our times! So let us repent, which means simply to turn around, and let us return to You offering our nothingness in love for the Love which never lets us go because You have made known Your Salvation! Let us correspond to Your Grace!

Christ Has Set You Free- Do You Believe It? — October 14, 2024

Christ Has Set You Free- Do You Believe It?

For freedom, Christ has set us free; stand fast therefore, and do not submit again to a yoke of slavery. (Galatians 5:1)

Meditation- It is so easy to say the Son has set us free and that we are free indeed (John 8:36) and yet how many of us live in chains. Chains of habits, addictions, fear, worry, anxiety, negativity, and the list goes on! Freedom is not about our circumstances,. We can have interior freedom in prison and live like slaves with no apparent entanglements to our outward freedom. The key is that it is Christ who has set us free and now it is up to us to live not as slaves but as dearly beloved children of God! So let us submit to Christ today whose yoke is easy and burden is light (Matthew 11) anything in our lives that would place us back in chains!

Prayer- Jesus we surrender ourselves to You, You take care of it!

Daily Lectio- Putting On Christ — October 12, 2024

Daily Lectio- Putting On Christ

For as many of you as were baptized into Christ have put on Christ (Galatians 3:27)

Meditation- Lord there is a Christian song from a group called Big Daddy Weave that proclaims I wonder what life would be like if we let Jesus live through you and me? Because if we were baptized into You then we have indeed put You on. We have Your Mind (1 Corinthians 2:16). And we are invited by You to obey Your Commandments and You and The Father will come to us (John 14:23). That You are always at the door knocking (Revelation 3:20). And yet why do we let You seem so far off when indeed You are living in each one of us! The Kingdom of God is within us (Luke 17:21). Lord we put You on when we do and live in Your Will! Lord may we seek You and find You always in Your Word and in Your Sacraments that we would indeed put You on daily and let You live through us!

Prayer- O Lord as we live in union with You let us pray always for the unbaptized for the grace of conversion especially for all the families who are not having their children baptized.

Blessed Are Those Who Hear The Word Of God — October 11, 2024

Blessed Are Those Who Hear The Word Of God

Blessed Are Those Who Hear the Word of God

Today’s Consuming Fire Meditation- – A Daily Dose of the Flame of Love Diary Served Up with Today’s Scriptures

Saturday of the Twenty Seventh Week of Ordinary Time

Blessed Are Those Who Hear the Word of God

The material for my meditation these past months has been one phrase: “And the Word became Flesh.” This is an inexhaustible theme and I always meditate on it. (Elizabeth) (March 23, 1963)

Today’s Readings: While Jesus was speaking, a woman from the crowd called out and said to him, “Blessed is the womb that carried you and the breasts at which you nursed.” He replied, “Rather, blessed are those who hear the word of God and observe it.” (Luke 11)

Prayer Meditation- Lord, no one meditated on Your Word better and more perfectly than Our Blessed Mother! She is the model of discipleship- of hearing the Word of God and observing it. Lord, help us not only to read the Word but to meditate on it and ponder it, letting it transform us from glory to glory into Your likeness and into perfect union with You! Blessed Mother pray for us and intercede for us!

Gathering With Jesus — October 10, 2024

Gathering With Jesus

Gathering With Jesus

Today’s Consuming Fire Meditation- – A Daily Dose of the Flame of Love Diary Served Up with Today’s Scriptures

Friday of the Twenty Seventh Week of Ordinary Time

Gathering with Jesus

“May our souls be in harmony. In this way, our hands will gather in unity. Now I fill your heart with the feeling of My Divinity. Oh, that we might gather together as much as possible!” (Jesus) (October 18, 1962)

Today’s Readings: Whoever is not with me is against me, and whoever does not gather with me scatters. (Luke 11)

Prayer Meditation- Lord it is hard to believe that You were accused of working for the devil in today’s Gospel, casting out demons in the name of Beelzebub. At the same time we see such disunity in Your Body where even believers don’t always trust other believers. Lord we pray that we would not be a House Divided because You prayed that we would all be one (John 17). Lord may we as Christians in this time not forget the mission which is to gather souls into Your Kingdom. Let us offer our prayers, works, joys and sufferings for the salvation of souls and for love of You today- let we walk together with You our hands gathering in unity!

Walk This Way — October 5, 2024

Walk This Way

Walk This Way

Today’s Consuming Fire Meditation- – A Daily Dose of the Flame of Love Diary Served Up with Today’s Scriptures

Twenty Seventh Sunday of Ordinary Time

Walk This Way

Jesus said, “Renounce the reading of frivolous books, the hearing of your favorite music, and your seeking to be among others. On your walks, think only of My Sacred Passion.” (Jesus) (May 4, 1962)

Today’s Readings: Blessed are you who fear the LORD, who walk in his ways! For you shall eat the fruit of your handiwork; blessed shall you be, and favored. (Psalm 128)

Prayer Meditation- Lord we bless You, we glorify You and we thank You for inviting us to walk in Your Ways. Lord may our feet journey together! Lord we cannot walk in Your Ways if we cannot hear Your Voice. We will veer quickly to the right or to the left (Isaiah 30:21) Let us turn down the noise of the world and keep our eyes fixed on You! Let us meditate on the Mysteries of the Rosary in love and gratitude for all that You have done for us as we hold Mary’s Hand following You and the Blessed Mother because these Mysteries are outside of time and they apply to us today no matter what situation or circumstances we find ourselves in. The Rosary will lead us surely on the path that is level and smooth (Isaiah 26:7)- the little narrow way of sanctification for Your Glory and for the salvation of souls!

Daily Lectio- Good To Be Afflicted? —

Daily Lectio- Good To Be Afflicted?

It is good for me that I was afflicted, that I might learn your statues. (Psalms 119:71)

Meditation- O Lord we may not like to be afflicted- to suffer anything really let alone something really serious. We want our Heaven here. And yet it is in our sufferings that often we find You not only to teach us Your ways but to compassionate us and suffer with it because You hold every tear we cry in Your Hands! And we praise You Lord because as in 2 Corinthians 1:4 You are the God who comforts us in all our affliction, so that we may be able to comfort those who are in any affliction, with the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God. Lord we are to take all that we have learned and all that we have been given in our hardest pains and use that suffering to comfort and console others! So Lord, help us not complain in our sufferings, thus wasting them, but help us to be not only resigned but truly surrendered as we pray Jesus I trust in You!

Prayer- O Lord, we thank You in all circumstances and we know that You never abandon us or forsake us. May we not only offer our sufferings to You to do with them as You will but may we compassionate and help others just as You console us in our pain and misery! Jesus we trust in You!
