Abandoned to Amazing Grace

I will give you the grace of full abandonment to me. This grace will totally control your being, and grace will go out to others. (Jesus) (October 2, 1962)

Today’s Readings:

From his fullness we have all received,
grace in place of grace,
because while the law was given through Moses, 
grace and truth came through Jesus Christ. (John 1) Prayer Meditation: O Lord make us instruments of Your Grace- little pencils in Your Hands so that Your Grace and Peace will go out to others. May we be so full of Your Grace that it truly goes out to others for Your Glory and the good of all!  As we enter the New Year, let peace in the world begin with us as we remain in Your love and we abandon ourselves to Your Holy Will which is Love and Mercy itself

Today’s Readings: I am confident of this, that the one who began a good work in you will continue to complete it until the day of Christ Jesus.(Philippians 1)


Prayer Meditation- Second week of Advent Lord, the time to meditate on making our crooked ways straight and our rough ways smooth. Lord, You know for a lot of us that is a lifetime of work.  Trying to straighten up and fly right while not getting caught up in the noise of the “holiday” season seems like more work than many of us can do right now. But Lord, how we easily forget, You are the one who began this good work in us and You will be the one to complete it if we would just let go with trustful abandonment. Let us not get discouraged, all of us are beginners on this earthly journey- may our feet journey together with You Lord!

Afraid To Ask

Oh, how sad I am to see the multitude of devout souls living a pious life without earning much merit on behalf of their eternal salvation. So many of them do not attempt to come close to Me in any way as though they are afraid. (Jesus) (November 8, 1964)

Today’s Readings: 
But they did not understand this saying;
its meaning was hidden from them
so that they should not understand it,
and they were afraid to ask him about this saying. (Luke 9)

Prayer Meditation: O Lord like the Apostles we can be afraid to ask about the things we don’t understand in our lives and in our faith walk. We can bury under the rug that which is uncomfortable or a hard truth rather than take the issue to You! Oh what peace we often forfeit! Lord let us not just keep going through the motions in our spiritual life – let us never be afraid to ask the hard questions and to draw close to You- let us take everything to You in prayer and to the Sacraments!
