The Lord Has Made Known His Salvation

The Lord Has Made Known His Salvation

Today’s Consuming Fire Meditation- – A Daily Dose of the Flame of Love Diary Served Up with Today’s Scriptures

Memorial of Saint Ignatius of Antioch

The Lord Has Made Known His Salvation

“My Mother, why do you not work miracles like you did at Fatima so people may believe in you?” Mary: “The greater the miracles, my little one, the fewer those who believed in me. I asked for the First Saturdays and they never heeded my request. I am your gentle and understanding Mother. United with you, I will save you. (Elizabeth/Mary) (April 13, 1962)

Today’s Readings: The LORD has made his salvation known:
in the sight of the nations he has revealed his justice.
He has remembered his kindness and his faithfulness. (Psalm 98)

Prayer Meditation- Our Mother who has been coming more and more to Her Children like any good Mother would- to warn us, protect us, and save us. In Fatima, the last apparition brought with it a miracle- the Miracle of the Sun for the whole world to see thanks to the media of the time. Lord, You did indeed make salvation known in the sight of the nations! And yet, even after such a miracle, it was business as usual here on planet Earth. We did not heed Your Mother’s request for First Saturdays- for prayer and sacrifice including the Rosary. And yet Lord, You do not give up on Your kindness and Your faithfulness. Even in these sad times, You have given us the lifeboat- the Flame of Love of the Immaculate Heart of Mary, the Ark of Safety for our times! So let us repent, which means simply to turn around, and let us return to You offering our nothingness in love for the Love which never lets us go because You have made known Your Salvation! Let us correspond to Your Grace!

Fruits Of The Spirit — October 15, 2024

Fruits Of The Spirit

Fruits of The Spirit

Today’s Consuming Fire Meditation- – A Daily Dose of the Flame of Love Diary Served Up with Today’s Scriptures

Wednesday of the Twenty Eighth Week of Ordinary Time

Fruits of The Spirit

Do not make decisions based upon the feelings of the moment. Have a firm and persevering acceptance of sacrifices. This is what produces abundant fruit in the souls.” (Jesus) (August 7, 1962)

Today’s Readings: In contrast, the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, generosity, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control.(Galatians 5)

Prayer Meditation- Lord, if we want a check- up of where we are there is no better Scripture reading than Galatians 5. Are we seeing joy, peace, patience, kindness, generosity, faithfulness, gentleness, and self- control? If not is it because we are still living in our own will and not Yours? Lord, help us accept the duty of the present moment, with Your Grace, so that we would manifest the fruits of living in the Spirit in our lives each day!

From The Inside Out — October 14, 2024

From The Inside Out

From The Inside Out

Today’s Consuming Fire Meditation- – A Daily Dose of the Flame of Love Diary Served Up with Today’s Scriptures

Memorial of Saint Teresa of Jesus

From The Inside Out

My hair is soaked in blood. My feet are chapped from having followed you. I constantly stretch out My hand asking for help. I go from heart to heart and I receive only a small donation. Then they quickly close the door of their heart and I can hardly cast a glance inside. (Jesus) (May 2, 1962)

Today’s Readings:

Did not the maker of the outside also make the inside?
But as to what is within, give alms,
and behold, everything will be clean for you.” (Luke 11)

Prayer Meditation- O Lord we do so much to make the outside of our lives pretty and neat! Even the faithful can be just putting on a show if we don’t address what we are inside- full of judgment and self-absorption, jealousy and indifference and sometimes even hate. You relentlessly pursue our hearts longing to come inside and cleanse us of our infirmities yet we shut You out! We place You in whatever neat little compartment we have for “religion” rather than opening wide our hearts. O Lord let us give You our everything- alms not only of treasure but of our time and talents used for You and with You in service to You each day in the distressing disguise of our neighbors! Such acts of charity come only from a heart that burns with Your Flame of Love- Lord purify us from the inside out! Helps us to keep our “interior castles” clean on this wonderful saint day of St. Teresa of Avila!

Freedom — October 13, 2024

Freedom

Freedom

Today’s Consuming Fire Meditation- – A Daily Dose of the Flame of Love Diary Served Up with Today’s Scriptures

Monday of the Twenty Eighth Week of Ordinary Time

Freedom

How many times, while kneeling at the Lord’s sacred Feet, He freed me from terrible worries. (Elizabeth) (February 1, 1963)

Today’s Readings:
For freedom Christ set us free; so stand firm
and do not submit again to the yoke of slavery. (Galatians 4)

Prayer Meditation: O Lord, You have indeed set us free from sin and all of our chains. You have set us free! So why do we still so often act and think like prisoners- prisoners of our past sins, failures, weaknesses, anxieties and human frailty. The prison door is wide open but we stay in the darkness afraid to walk into Your Marvelous Light! Lord Jesus let us go with confidence to Your Throne and kneel at Your Sacred Feet and help us let it all go! You wait patiently in the Tabernacle and in the Sacraments! Let us use frequently the Sacrament of Reconciliation when we fall and let us never let You go! You call us through Your Word and You heal us with each Eucharist received worthily and with thanksgiving! So let us run with confidence into the light of Your Freedom! May Our Mother Mary hold our hands with each Rosary as she accompanies us on our journey to union with You!

The Double Edged Sword Of The Word — October 12, 2024

The Double Edged Sword Of The Word

The Double Edged Sword of The Word

Today’s Consuming Fire Meditation- – A Daily Dose of the Flame of Love Diary Served Up with Today’s Scriptures

Twenty Eighth Sunday of Ordinary Time

The Double Edged Sword of The Word

The look of His eyes is like a flash of lightening which lights up everything. It penetrated my whole being and I saw all my hidden sins. (Elizabeth) (January 14, 1963)

Today’s Readings: Brothers and sisters: Indeed, the word of God is living and effective, sharper than any two-edged sword, penetrating even between soul and spirit, joints and marrow, and able to discern reflections and thoughts of the heart. (Hebrews 4)

Prayer Meditation- Lord, we read in the Gospel today about the Rich Young Man. It is not that he had stuff, it was that his stuff had him! He could not let go of trinkets to follow You into the Kingdom. He really is all of us to a certain extent- we are all holding onto something, be it material or emotional baggage. Lord the only cure is to allow You, the Living Word, to penetrate into our hearts and show us the hidden sins and faults that we just can’t let go of! Hard work if we try it ourselves, but easier with Your Grace because all things are possible with God! (Mark 10). Lord, help us to go boldly to the Throne of Grace and not be afraid to let You transform us! Our Lady of Fatima pray for us!

Daily Lectio- Putting On Christ —

Daily Lectio- Putting On Christ

For as many of you as were baptized into Christ have put on Christ (Galatians 3:27)

Meditation- Lord there is a Christian song from a group called Big Daddy Weave that proclaims I wonder what life would be like if we let Jesus live through you and me? Because if we were baptized into You then we have indeed put You on. We have Your Mind (1 Corinthians 2:16). And we are invited by You to obey Your Commandments and You and The Father will come to us (John 14:23). That You are always at the door knocking (Revelation 3:20). And yet why do we let You seem so far off when indeed You are living in each one of us! The Kingdom of God is within us (Luke 17:21). Lord we put You on when we do and live in Your Will! Lord may we seek You and find You always in Your Word and in Your Sacraments that we would indeed put You on daily and let You live through us!

Prayer- O Lord as we live in union with You let us pray always for the unbaptized for the grace of conversion especially for all the families who are not having their children baptized.

Gathering With Jesus — October 10, 2024

Gathering With Jesus

Gathering With Jesus

Today’s Consuming Fire Meditation- – A Daily Dose of the Flame of Love Diary Served Up with Today’s Scriptures

Friday of the Twenty Seventh Week of Ordinary Time

Gathering with Jesus

“May our souls be in harmony. In this way, our hands will gather in unity. Now I fill your heart with the feeling of My Divinity. Oh, that we might gather together as much as possible!” (Jesus) (October 18, 1962)

Today’s Readings: Whoever is not with me is against me, and whoever does not gather with me scatters. (Luke 11)

Prayer Meditation- Lord it is hard to believe that You were accused of working for the devil in today’s Gospel, casting out demons in the name of Beelzebub. At the same time we see such disunity in Your Body where even believers don’t always trust other believers. Lord we pray that we would not be a House Divided because You prayed that we would all be one (John 17). Lord may we as Christians in this time not forget the mission which is to gather souls into Your Kingdom. Let us offer our prayers, works, joys and sufferings for the salvation of souls and for love of You today- let we walk together with You our hands gathering in unity!

Teach Us To Pray — October 8, 2024

Teach Us To Pray

Teach Us To Pray

Today’s Consuming Fire Meditation- – A Daily Dose of the Flame of Love Diary Served Up with Today’s Scriptures

Wednesday of the Twenty Seventh Week of Ordinary Time- Our Lady of Champion

Teach Us To Pray

Then the sweet Redeemer asked me to pray with Him the prayer that expresses His deepest desires: May our feet journey together, May our hands gather in unity, May our hearts beat in unison, May our souls be in harmony, May our thoughts be as one, May our ears listen to the silence together, May our glances profoundly penetrate each other, May our lips pray together to gain mercy from the Eternal Father. I made this prayer completely mine. The Lord meditated on it many times with me, asserting that these are His eternal longings. He taught me this prayer, so I would in turn teach it to others. With all our strength and mind, let us make our own His eternal thoughts and burning desires. (Jesus) (May 1962)

Today’s Readings: Jesus was praying in a certain place, and when he had finished,
one of his disciples said to him,
“Lord, teach us to pray just as John taught his disciples.”
He said to them, “When you pray, say:

Father, hallowed be your name,
your Kingdom come.
Give us each day our daily bread
and forgive us our sins
for we ourselves forgive everyone in debt to us,
and do not subject us to the final test.”

Prayer Meditation: Today on this Feast Day of Our Lady of Champion we come to You Lord and we ask with the disciples to teach us to pray! You have given us the Our Father and through the angel Gabriel, the Angelic Salutation, the Hail Mary. And these basic prayers open up the Kingdom to us if we really meditate on them. Through Our Lady, You have given us the Most Holy Rosary and through the Rosary we can take our minds off of ourselves and our many words (Proverbs 10:19) and meditate on the mysteries of the lives of Jesus and Mary, still alive to us, and grab hold of whatever we need in the present moment. Do we need humility, patience, courage, faith, hope, love-  all of the virtues of Jesus and Mary are there for the taking in the mysteries of the Rosary. Lord, let us truly unite with You and the Blessed Mother as we offer our whole selves in meditating on these mysteries in our hearts and with our hearts today and every day. There is no problem, no matter how difficult, that cannot be solved with the Rosary (Sister Lucia)

Anxious About Many Things — October 7, 2024

Anxious About Many Things

Anxious About Many Things

Today’s Consuming Fire Meditation- – A Daily Dose of the Flame of Love Diary Served Up with Today’s Scriptures

Tuesday of the Twenty Seventh Week of Ordinary Time

Anxious About Many Things

“I, your Master, will care for you. I will free you from every worry. I only want to be everything to you so that nothing ties you to the earth.” (Jesus) (April 20, 1964)

Today’s Readings: The Lord said to her in reply, “Martha, Martha, you are anxious and worried about many things. There is need of only one thing. Mary has chosen the better part and it will not be taken from her.” (Luke 10)

Prayer Meditation- Lord, You know us in and out. So many suffer from anxiety and stress- how many prayers to You are just one complaint after another! Yet You ask only one thing – all You really want is our hearts so that You can set us free! You told Saint Faustina that anxiety is an obstacle to holiness- it makes it hard to practice virtue. Lord only You can free us from this thorn in our flesh (2 Corinthians 12). Your Grace is sufficient- Jesus I trust in You!

Daily Lectio- Who Is Our Neighbor —

Daily Lectio- Who Is Our Neighbor

And he answered, “You shall love the Lord your God with all you heart, and with all your souls, and with all your strength, and with all your mind; and your neighbor as yourself.” (Luke 10:27)

Mediation- Lord the scholar in today’s Gospel asks You just who is our neighbor. It should seem simple but this scholar and really all of us choose to justify ourselves. How we love to make simple concepts complicated. Nuanced we may call it. And we miss so many opportunities to love and serve! Lord today You show us that anyone we come across in our path today- a stranger in distress, a family member having a bad day, a co-worker who is on our last nerve is indeed our neighbor. And just how are we a true neighbor to others. Well You tell us in the Gospel by showing mercy. We can show mercy in deed, in word, or when nothing else is possible in prayer. But show mercy we must, it is the heart of the Gospel!

Prayer Lord Jesus show us always the merciful deed, word, or prayer that is right in all situations because all are indeed our neighbors! May we love with Your Love!
