Boldly To The Throne Of Grace

Today’s Consuming Fire Meditation- – A Daily Dose of the Flame of Love Diary Served Up with Today’s Scriptures

Twenty Ninth Sunday in Ordinary Time

Boldly To the Throne of Grace!

Our Lord praised her sacrifices and prayers. “Sacrifice and prayer! These are you instruments. The goal is to bring about the powerful work of Salvation. Oh, if your desires reach the throne of the heavenly Father, the results will be abundant.” (Jesus) (July 22-23, 1963)

Today’s Readings: For we do not have a high priest who is unable to sympathize with our weaknesses, but one who has similarly been tested in every way, yet without sin. So let us confidently approach the throne of grace to receive mercy and to find grace for timely help.

Prayer Meditation- Lord, we do not have a high priest who does not know what we are going through! You gave all so that we could be free! You want us to come boldly to the Throne of Grace, with total trust and abandonment. Yet our best instruments are prayer and sacrifice with the desire to please You and save souls! Like John and James in today’s Gospel we can have silly and immature wants and needs, O Lord, purify our hearts and desires in conformity to Your Perfect Will which is Love and Mercy itself!

From The Inside Out

From The Inside Out

Memorial of Saint Teresa of Jesus

From The Inside Out

My hair is soaked in blood. My feet are chapped from having followed you. I constantly stretch out My hand asking for help. I go from heart to heart and I receive only a small donation. Then they quickly close the door of their heart and I can hardly cast a glance inside. (Jesus) (May 2, 1962)

Today’s Readings:

Did not the maker of the outside also make the inside?
But as to what is within, give alms,
and behold, everything will be clean for you.” (Luke 11)

Prayer Meditation- O Lord we do so much to make the outside of our lives pretty and neat! Even the faithful can be just putting on a show if we don’t address what we are inside- full of judgment and self-absorption, jealousy and indifference and sometimes even hate. You relentlessly pursue our hearts longing to come inside and cleanse us of our infirmities yet we shut You out! We place You in whatever neat little compartment we have for “religion” rather than opening wide our hearts. O Lord let us give You our everything- alms not only of treasure but of our time and talents used for You and with You in service to You each day in the distressing disguise of our neighbors! Such acts of charity come only from a heart that burns with Your Flame of Love- Lord purify us from the inside out! Helps us to keep our “interior castles” clean on this wonderful saint day of St. Teresa of Avila!

Blessed Are Those Who Hear The Word Of God — October 11, 2024

Blessed Are Those Who Hear The Word Of God

Blessed Are Those Who Hear the Word of God

Today’s Consuming Fire Meditation- – A Daily Dose of the Flame of Love Diary Served Up with Today’s Scriptures

Saturday of the Twenty Seventh Week of Ordinary Time

Blessed Are Those Who Hear the Word of God

The material for my meditation these past months has been one phrase: “And the Word became Flesh.” This is an inexhaustible theme and I always meditate on it. (Elizabeth) (March 23, 1963)

Today’s Readings: While Jesus was speaking, a woman from the crowd called out and said to him, “Blessed is the womb that carried you and the breasts at which you nursed.” He replied, “Rather, blessed are those who hear the word of God and observe it.” (Luke 11)

Prayer Meditation- Lord, no one meditated on Your Word better and more perfectly than Our Blessed Mother! She is the model of discipleship- of hearing the Word of God and observing it. Lord, help us not only to read the Word but to meditate on it and ponder it, letting it transform us from glory to glory into Your likeness and into perfect union with You! Blessed Mother pray for us and intercede for us!

Teach Us To Pray — October 8, 2024

Teach Us To Pray

Teach Us To Pray

Wednesday of the Twenty Seventh Week of Ordinary Time- Our Lady of Champion

Teach Us To Pray

Then the sweet Redeemer asked me to pray with Him the prayer that expresses His deepest desires: May our feet journey together, May our hands gather in unity, May our hearts beat in unison, May our souls be in harmony, May our thoughts be as one, May our ears listen to the silence together, May our glances profoundly penetrate each other, May our lips pray together to gain mercy from the Eternal Father. I made this prayer completely mine. The Lord meditated on it many times with me, asserting that these are His eternal longings. He taught me this prayer, so I would in turn teach it to others. With all our strength and mind, let us make our own His eternal thoughts and burning desires. (Jesus) (May 1962)

Today’s Readings: Jesus was praying in a certain place, and when he had finished,
one of his disciples said to him,
“Lord, teach us to pray just as John taught his disciples.”
He said to them, “When you pray, say:

Father, hallowed be your name,
your Kingdom come.
Give us each day our daily bread
and forgive us our sins
for we ourselves forgive everyone in debt to us,
and do not subject us to the final test.”

Prayer Meditation: Today on this Feast Day of Our Lady of Champion we come to You Lord and we ask with the disciples to teach us to pray! You have given us the Our Father and through the angel Gabriel, the Angelic Salutation, the Hail Mary. And these basic prayers open up the Kingdom to us if we really meditate on them. Through Our Lady, You have given us the Most Holy Rosary and through the Rosary we can take our minds off of ourselves and our many words (Proverbs 10:19) and meditate on the mysteries of the lives of Jesus and Mary, still alive to us, and grab hold of whatever we need in the present moment. Do we need humility, patience, courage, faith, hope, love-  all of the virtues of Jesus and Mary are there for the taking in the mysteries of the Rosary. Lord, let us truly unite with You and the Blessed Mother as we offer our whole selves in meditating on these mysteries in our hearts and with our hearts today and every day. There is no problem, no matter how difficult, that cannot be solved with the Rosary (Sister Lucia)

Anxious About Many Things — October 7, 2024

Tuesday of the Twenty Seventh Week of Ordinary Time

Anxious About Many Things

“I, your Master, will care for you. I will free you from every worry. I only want to be everything to you so that nothing ties you to the earth.” (Jesus) (April 20, 1964)

Today’s Readings: The Lord said to her in reply, “Martha, Martha, you are anxious and worried about many things. There is need of only one thing. Mary has chosen the better part and it will not be taken from her.” (Luke 10)

Prayer Meditation- Lord, You know us in and out. So many suffer from anxiety and stress- how many prayers to You are just one complaint after another! Yet You ask only one thing – all You really want is our hearts so that You can set us free! You told Saint Faustina that anxiety is an obstacle to holiness- it makes it hard to practice virtue. Lord only You can free us from this thorn in our flesh (2 Corinthians 12). Your Grace is sufficient- Jesus I trust in You!

Daily Lectio- Who Is Our Neighbor —

Daily Lectio- Who Is Our Neighbor

And he answered, “You shall love the Lord your God with all you heart, and with all your souls, and with all your strength, and with all your mind; and your neighbor as yourself.” (Luke 10:27)

Mediation- Lord the scholar in today’s Gospel asks You just who is our neighbor. It should seem simple but this scholar and really all of us choose to justify ourselves. How we love to make simple concepts complicated. Nuanced we may call it. And we miss so many opportunities to love and serve! Lord today You show us that anyone we come across in our path today- a stranger in distress, a family member having a bad day, a co-worker who is on our last nerve is indeed our neighbor. And just how are we a true neighbor to others. Well You tell us in the Gospel by showing mercy. We can show mercy in deed, in word, or when nothing else is possible in prayer. But show mercy we must, it is the heart of the Gospel!

Prayer Lord Jesus show us always the merciful deed, word, or prayer that is right in all situations because all are indeed our neighbors! May we love with Your Love!

Bearers Of Divine Mercy — October 6, 2024

Bearers Of Divine Mercy

Bearers Of Divine Mercy

Today’s Consuming Fire Meditation- – A Daily Dose of the Flame of Love Diary Served Up with Today’s Scriptures

Memorial of Our Lady of The Rosary

Bearers of Divine Mercy

Jesus: “I choose you, My little one, to be the bearer of My Divine Mercy. Fill yourself with the abundance of My Divine Mercy and when you open your mouth to speak, proclaim the mercy of My Heart burning of desire for sinners. Let your whole life be a burning desire to take part in My work of Redemption through prayer, sacrifice and desire.” (Jesus) (May 4, 1962)

Today’s Readings: Which of these three, in your opinion,
was neighbor to the robbers’ victim?”
He answered, “The one who treated him with mercy.”
Jesus said to him, “Go and do likewise.” (Luke 10)

Prayer Meditation: Lord today in the Gospel we have the beautiful story of the Good Samaritan. The scholar of the law thinks he know it all and in trying to trick You asks, who is my neighbor? Because there were many laws of man never intended by You at that time which stated in great detail who were the neighbors of the Jewish people at the time and who were not. But Lord, You came for everyone, Your Mercy is for all! And You ask us to be bearers of Your Divine Mercy, that we would burn with desire for the salvation of souls! The Divine Mercy Diary tells us the how to- acts of mercy, especially spiritual acts of mercy which all can do, words of mercy if we cannot always act, and prayers of mercy which even the sick and homebound can do! So what about us? Who are our neighbors? Well in the Flame of Love, we pray for everyone, we spread the Flame of Love of the Immaculate Heart of Mary over all humanity! So let’s get busy- let’s make our wholes lives burn with the desire to take part in Your Redemption through prayer, sacrifice, and desire. Our Lady of the Rosary pray for us!

The God Who Gives And Takes Away — September 29, 2024

The God Who Gives And Takes Away

The God Who Gives And Takes Away

Today’s Consuming Fire Meditation- – A Daily Dose of the Flame of Love Diary Served Up with Today’s Scriptures

Memorial of Saint Jerome

The God Who Gives And Takes Away

Maternal dignity is at the
same time a vocation saturated with sufferings, and that is what I share with you. I thank you,
my little one, for your participation that is continual and filled with sacrifices. I, as a loving
Mother, can assure you of your heavenly reward.” (Mary) (August 27, 1964)

Today’s Readings:

“Naked I came forth from my mother’s womb,
and naked shall I go back again.
The LORD gave and the LORD has taken away;
blessed be the name of the LORD!” (Job 1)

Prayer Meditation: O Lord You are the God who gives and takes away! In our respective vocations Lord we will have sufferings and crosses. At all times, Lord, help us to praise You in whatever storm we are in- knowing that You are with us and You will never let us go! Let us ask for the intercession always of Our Blessed Mother who has shared our sufferings and who prays for us without ceasing!

Afraid To Ask — September 28, 2024

Afraid To Ask

Afraid To Ask

Today’s Consuming Fire Meditation- – A Daily Dose of the Flame of Love Diary Served Up with Today’s Scriptures

Afraid To Ask

Oh, how sad I am to see the multitude of devout souls living a pious life without earning much merit on behalf of their eternal salvation. So many of them do not attempt to come close to Me in any way as though they are afraid. (Jesus) (November 8, 1964)

Today’s Readings:
But they did not understand this saying;
its meaning was hidden from them
so that they should not understand it,
and they were afraid to ask him about this saying. (Luke 9)

Prayer Meditation: O Lord like the Apostles we can be afraid to ask about the things we don’t understand in our lives and in our faith walk. We can bury under the rug that which is uncomfortable or a hard truth rather than take the issue to You! Oh what peace we often forfeit! Lord let us not just keep going through the motions in our spiritual life – let us never be afraid to ask the hard questions and to draw close to You- let us take everything to You in prayer and to the Sacraments!

Accepting Our Cross With Love — September 26, 2024

Accepting Our Cross With Love

Accepting Our Cross With Love

Today’s Consuming Fire Meditation- – A Daily Dose of the Flame of Love Diary Served Up with Today’s Scriptures

Memorial of Saint Vincent de Paul

Accepting Our Cross With Love

Jesus: “Ask for abundant graces. The more you ask, the more you will receive. Ask for others and do not fear that you ask for too much! I am happy when I give more. Even your desires make Me happy. Accept faithfully the sacrifices that I ask of you for My Cause. Many ask repeatedly to share in My works, but when they must accept a sacrifice from My own hands, they are afraid of Me. (March 4-7, 1962)

Today’s Readings: Once when Jesus was praying in solitude,
and the disciples were with him,
he asked them, “Who do the crowds say that I am?”
They said in reply, “John the Baptist; others, Elijah;
still others, ‘One of the ancient prophets has arisen.’”
Then he said to them, “But who do you say that I am?”
Peter said in reply, “The Christ of God.”(Luke 9)

Prayer Meditation- Lord, so many of us can declare with St. Peter that You are the Christ but what do we say and do when we hear about the Cross as the disciples did after this declaration of faith? Do we become afraid or do we trust in You? So yes Lord, may we share in Your Works but may we also accept with love the crosses You send our way as they come to us formed by Your Own Hands for our sanctification and Your Glory! Fiat Lord!
