“You know when I sit down and when I rise up; you discern my thoughts from afar. (Psalm 139:2)

Meditation- O Lord there really is no hiding place from the Author of Creation (One Love, Bob Marley). You see us and You know every breath we take, every step we take to quote Sting. You know every thought and every song in our heads! I’m being a little silly this morning but in all seriousness there is not a thought, an act, a breath that we have done that has not been under Your Loving and watchful gaze! Yet You don’t don’t just watch us like the proverbial Clock Maker of the deists who believe that You exist but not that You intervene in our lives but You love us with an everlasting love because we are fearfully and wonderfully made by You as the rest of the Psalm of today tells us.

Prayer- O Lord, many may read a psalm like this and feel frightened and want to hide, who can stand as Psalm 130 say if You keep a record of our sins. But as the Psalm goes on to say You are filled with forgiveness and because of this we can trust in You and not run and hide because the God who sees us is also the God who loves us and gave His life for us that we would be truly free!
