Jesus Is Knocking At The Door Of Your Heart

Today’s Consuming Fire Meditation- – A Daily Dose of the Flame of Love Diary Served Up with Today’s Scriptures

Tuesday of the Thirty Third Week of Ordinary Time

Jesus Is Knocking At The Door Of Your Heart

I constantly stretch out My hand asking for help. I go from heart to heart and I receive only a small donation. Then they quickly close the door of their heart and I can hardly cast a glance inside.” (Jesus) (May 2, 1962)

Today’s Readings:

“‘Behold, I stand at the door and knock.
If anyone hears my voice and opens the door,
then I will enter his house and dine with him,
and he with me. (Revelations 3)

Prayer Meditation: Lord You knock always at the door of our hearts! Yet we keep You in our little “God box”. We let You in briefly on a Sunday and then we don’t give You a second glance as we go on with our busy lives! Yet You want to live with us and dine with us! You want to live every moment of our lives in us- in unity! There is not a single detail of our lives that You do not want to share with us! Lord, help us not to block Your Grace but to let Your Mercy come in like a rushing wind- blow apart what stands in Your Way today Lord!

Shout it Out

I broke into a shout, “How good of You to come! Truly, You do not despise me. Because I am a sinner, You double Your strength in me. What goodness, what limitless compassion You have for a repentant sinner.” For a long time, I gave thanks for His infinite mercy. (Elizabeth) (November 22, 1962)

Today’s Readings: He shouted, “Jesus, Son of David, have pity on me!” The people walking in front rebuked him, telling him to be silent, but he kept calling out all the more, “Son of David, have pity on me!” (Luke 18)

Prayer Meditation- Lord, You are always passing by yet so few notice. It seems that it is fewer and fewer these days. And yet, You are always attentive to our call- Lord we cannot see You just like the blind man but like him, we can also step out in faith! Lord, when we feel discouraged, when we feel like we are in darkness, when we are waiting on You and nothing seems to be happening, as well as in the times when we just want to praise Your Name- may we shout it out today in gratitude for Your infinite mercy!

Thirty Third Sunday of Ordinary Time

Learning from the Fig Tree

The moment is near, so be patient. I can hardly wait for your arrival. My Elizabeth, My little one! I draw you close to My Heart. You will receive a tremendous reward for all the sufferings that you have accepted for My work of Salvation.” (Jesus) (Compendium Page 49)

Today’s Readings- “Learn a lesson from the fig tree. When its branch becomes tender and sprouts leaves, you know that summer is near. In the same way, when you see these things happening ,know that he is near, at the gates (Mark 13)

Prayer Meditation- Lord, it is that time of the liturgical year- end times readings! It is so easy to get caught up in all kinds of theories, signs and anxieties but the truth of the matter is we all will individually have an end time. So, when we look at the fig trees of our own lives what do we see? Do we see our hearts tender and bearing much fruit because we know that You are always near, standing at the gates ready for us to welcome You inside? Do we see You awaiting our arrival one day to see You face to face with hope and expectancy and not fear? Lord Jesus come now- into our hearts and our lives and never leave us!

Will He Find Faith On Earth? — November 15, 2024

Will He Find Faith On Earth?

Will He Find Faith On Earth?

Today’s Consuming Fire Meditation- – A Daily Dose of the Flame of Love Diary Served Up with Today’s Scriptures

Saturday of the Thirty Second Week of Ordinary Time

Will He Find Faith on Earth?

“Suffer with courage, perseverance and a sincere abandonment. Don’t ponder if the suffering is large or small. All that you can still do for Me on earth is meritorious. Time is short, little sister, and never returns. (Jesus) (July 24, 1963)

Today’s Readings: The Lord said, “Pay attention to what the dishonest judge says. Will not God then secure the rights of his chosen ones who call out to him day and night? Will he be slow to answer them? I tell you, he will see to it that justice is done for them speedily. But when the Son of Man comes, will he find faith on earth?” (Luke 18)

Prayer Meditation- Lord, when You come again will You find faith on earth? I have to admit Lord with the way things are in the world and the Church, that question has been actually keeping me up at night. It seems like faith is very hard to find. Yet Lord, in today’s Gospel You teach us about prayer and perseverance, no matter the difficulty. To never give up! We only have today to love and serve You! Lord, yes You will find faith on earth- we may be small and few but we suffer with courage, perseverance and sincere abandonment for the love of You and the salvation of souls!

Friday of the Thirty Second Week of Ordinary Time

No Looking Back

“Oh, how many, many souls receive My abundant graces, but they are not prepared, and the purifying water of My love drains out. Their souls lose this grace. (Jesus) (November 17-18 1964)

Today’s Readings: Remember the wife of Lot. Whoever seeks to preserve his life will lose it, but whoever loses it will save it. (Luke 17)

Prayer Meditation- Lord, we seek to hold onto so many things as we journey through life- it could be things, unforgiveness, need for control, wounds that won’t heal, seasons in life which are for a time but are not for eternity. It can be hard to let go and move forward, and yet, You cannot fill us with new wine if we are still holding onto old wine skins. We are all journeying to You and yet like Lot’s wife so often we look back even as it is time for doors to close. Lord, help us to keep moving forward, letting go of attachments that are holding us back from You!

The Kingdom Of God Is Among Us

The Kingdom Of God Is Among Us

Today’s Consuming Fire Meditation- – A Daily Dose of the Flame of Love Diary Served Up with Today’s Scriptures

Thursday of the Thirty Second Week of Ordinary Time

The Kingdom of God is Among Us

“Each night, My little one, ask yourself what you have done for the coming of My Kingdom (Jesus) (August 28, 1962)

Today’s Readings: Asked by the Pharisees when the Kingdom of God would come, Jesus said in reply, “The coming of the Kingdom of God cannot be observed, and no one will announce, ‘Look, here it is,’ or, ‘There it is.’ For behold, the Kingdom of God is among you.” (Luke 17)

Prayer Meditation- Lord, Your Kingdom is here and now and not yet because You will return! And yet it is inside each one of us who is a baptized believer in a state of Grace. We have to look no further than our own hearts. Let us ask ourselves each night if what we have said and done has brought us closer or further away from Your Kingdom. Let us resolve to live in You, through You and for You each day! Fiat, Thy Will be Done!

Attitude of Gratitude

Jesus said, “Leave now. You must get bread for your family.” I had forgotten this completely. With deep gratitude, I thanked Him that His attention extended also to our earthly needs. (Jesus/Elizabeth) (February 14, 1965)

Today’s Readings: Jesus said in reply, “Ten were cleansed, were they not? Where are the other nine? Has none but this foreigner returned to give thanks to God?” Then he said to him, “Stand up and go; your faith has saved you.” (Luke 17)

Prayer Meditation- Lord, we would like to think we would be the one to come back and thank You- but how often Lord are we like the other nine. It is as if we feel entitled to Your Blessings- we take so much for granted! And yet there is nothing about our lives that does not escape Your notice and Your loving care! Lord may we always come running back to You with gratitude in our hearts!

Women of Courage

He (Satan) just wants me to live a normal life. People are going to think that I am an eccentric bigot; that I am foolish because my dress, my food, my enjoyments, and the way I treat others is not like other people. (Elizabeth) (August 31, 1962)

Today’s Readings: Similarly, older women should be reverent in their behavior, not slanderers, not addicted to drink, teaching what is good, so that they may train younger women to love their husbands and children, to be self-controlled, chaste, good homemakers, under the control of their husbands, so that the word of God may not be discredited. (Titus 2)

Prayer Meditation- O Lord, the world wants to pull us, especially women away from You and to the broad way of “doing our own thing” To conform to this world and this age- to live it up and live for ourselves- the good life! How many years Lord wasted along the way- how many detours off the narrow road to the broad road of “having it all”. Lord thank You for the broken road that led me straight to You! Following You Lord may make us stand out from the crowd these days- praying for our families, standing up for life, avoiding the noise in our culture to hear Your Voice,  loving our husbands and children above our own needs may not be popular but we are dearly loved daughters of the King! Lord may we be women of God who lead our daughters to You!

Who Can Ascend The Mountain of The Lord? — November 10, 2024

Who Can Ascend The Mountain of The Lord?

Who Can Ascend The Mountain Of The Lord?

Today’s Consuming Fire Meditation- – A Daily Dose of the Flame of Love Diary Served Up with Today’s Scriptures

Memorial of Saint Martin of Tours

Who Can Ascend The Mountain Of The Lord?

I felt as if my soul was climbing a mast so high that I was getting dizzy, and I only had to climb to the top or to throw myself into the abyss. But I could no longer fight this long battle… In the midst of my sufferings, I felt that immersing myself in the Most Holy Trinity was the only way to avoid giving up forever the exhausting struggle, which despite everything I did, refused to leave my soul. (Elizabeth) (October 23-24 1963)

Today’s Readings: Who can ascend the mountain of the LORD?
or who may stand in his holy place?
He whose hands are sinless, whose heart is clean,
who desires not what is vain. (Psalm 24)

Prayer Meditation: Lord today we read in the First Reading in St. Paul’s letter to St. Titus that the condition for being chosen as a bishop was to be blameless. And in the Gospel of today from St. Luke how we are to be on guard not to lead others to sin and how we must always forgive. And we can just feel like Elizabeth in the diary reading- Lord we keep climbing but the way is long and hard and we just feel dizzy and like giving up because who really can ascend this mountain Lord and stand in Your Holy Place. Again, sinless, blameless- Lord this trying to be perfect as You are perfect is beyond exhausting! But then there we go again, trying to do it all in our own will, in our own steam, and really not even thinking to ask You for a hand up this holy mountain of sanctity. Your ways are not our ways and You cannot wait to show us the elevator, just like You did for St. Therese if we would just remember we are little children totally dependent on You for without You we can do nothing! (John 15). Lord, we cannot fight this battle of life alone and the battle belongs to You (2 Chronicles 20:15) so let us fight on our knees and immerse ourselves in Your Holy Trinity and Your Holy Will and we will be standing on that mountain in no time holding the Hand of Our Loving Father and Friend who carried us there in  His Loving Arms!

Thirty Second Sunday in Ordinary Time

A Widow’s Mite

Jesus said, “I want to give you great graces, but you must renounce yourself completely.” Elizabeth write: These were harsh words for my reason. This is why I asked Him, “Am I capable of doing this?” Jesus responded, “You must only will it; leave the rest up to Me.” (Jesus) (1961-1962)

Today’s Readings: Amen, I say to you, this poor widow put in more than all the other contributors to the treasury. For they have all contributed from their surplus wealth, but she, from her poverty, has contributed all she had, her whole livelihood.” (Mark 12)

Prayer Meditation- Today we have the stories of two widows in the Liturgy of the Word- they gave their all to You! Lord, You ask for our everything but we so often want to hold back. We hold on to so many things, be they material or spiritual, because we are afraid of what will happen if we give ourselves away. We wonder, are we capable of renouncing ourselves so that You can fill us with Your Graces. Lord, help us to stop giving You only from our surplus but to truly give You all that we have and are- help us to will it and to leave the rest up to You! Jesus, we trust in Your Providence in all things!
