Today’s Consuming Fire Meditation- – A Daily Dose of the Flame of Love Diary Served Up with Today’s Scriptures

Twenty Fourth Sunday in Ordinary Time

Has Our Love Grown Cold?

“If your love decreases, turn to our heavenly Mother and she will fill your heart with abundant love for Me. Draw close to My Mother, she will help you.” (Jesus) (March 4-March 7, 1962)

Today’s Readings: Wrath and anger are hateful things, yet the sinner hugs them tight. The vengeful will suffer the LORD’s vengeance, for he remembers their sins in detail. (Sirach 27)

Prayer Meditation- Lord, we so often struggle with anger and unforgiveness. We hold on tight to our resentments, how easily we can become offended in these days and times that we live in. We cannot see You in other people- we only see ourselves. Yet Lord if we live by the sword, we will die by the sword (Matthew 26:52). Forgiveness is not easy but to imitate You, it must be without limit- 7 x 70 times! (Matthew 18). We must forgive each other from our hearts because You have already paid a debt for us that we cannot possibly pay! So Lord let us not be stingy with our love and mercy for another- if our love grows cold let us draw close to Our Heavenly Mother who will always intercede for us so that the wine of grace will keep flowing in our hearts (John 2).

Mercifully Treated

Jesus: “A long time ago, you received from My merciful Heart the full possession of the love which forgives. I accept this profound repentance with which you prostrated yourself before Me for the sake of others, and I grant them My pardon.” (August 18, 1965)

Today’s Readings: Beloved:
This saying is trustworthy and deserves full acceptance:
Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners.
Of these I am the foremost.
But for that reason I was mercifully treated,
so that in me, as the foremost,
Christ Jesus might display all his patience as an example
for those who would come to believe in him for everlasting life.
To the king of ages, incorruptible, invisible, the only God,
honor and glory forever and ever. Amen. (1 Timothy 1)

Prayer Meditation- Lord ,we thank You and praise You and adore You because we have been mercifully treated and Your patience with us is beyond anything we can ever think of or imagine. Your merciful love is infinite no matter who we are and what we have done. You will accept from us our repentance with a merciful heart that forgives and that You extend to others as we intercede for them. Lord help to not just hear Your Words but also to act on them (Luke 6) and always remember the ABC’s of mercy- ask for mercy, be merciful, and completely trust in Your Mercy (Divine Mercy In My Soul) not only for ourselves but for the whole world!

Memorial of Our Lady of Sorrows

Taking Mary into Our Homes

My Mother accompanied Me everywhere with her love, her sacrifices and her prayers. You must do the same, and I will bless your efforts. (Jesus) (January 17, 1964)

Today’s Readings: When Jesus saw his mother and the disciple there whom he loved he said to his mother, “Woman, behold, your son.” Then he said to the disciple, “Behold, your mother.” And from that hour the disciple took her into his home. (John 19)

Prayer Meditation- Lord, Your Holy Mother and ours followed You everywhere with love, sacrifices, and prayers. She is the model disciple and Our Most Loving Mother! Lord, You have given us Your Mother who stood by the Cross and who shared in the participation of Your Sacrifice on the Cross. She also shared in Your Resurrection- weeping turned into joy! Because as long as the deep dark night can seem, joy always comes in the morning! (Psalm 30:5). Lord, thank You for Your Beautiful Mother and ours- there is nothing that we will ever go through that She would not understand- there is no circumstance in life that She will not stand by us and pray fervently for us to You. Even today, Mary calls us through Her various apparitions around the world- crying because She will not rest until all of Her Children are home! Lord, open our hearts that we would take into our homes Our Mother- let us stand with Her at the Cross and keep her company as She brings us ever closer to You! Sorrowful and Immaculate Heart of Mary pray for us- take us deep into Your Heart and unite us to the Sacred Heart of Jesus!

Feast of the Exaltation of The Holy Cross

For God So Loved The World

Did I not shed all the drops of My Blood for all of you? My Will is to save everyone. (Jesus) (August 13, 1965)

Today’s Readings:

For God so loved the world that he gave his only Son, so that everyone who believes in him might not perish but might have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world might be saved through him. (John 3)

Prayer Meditation: O Lord You so loved the world that You gave Your only Begotten Son so that we can have everlasting life! You did not come to condemn us but to save us! How can we not take up our crosses and follow You- only You have the Words of Eternal Life!

Today’s Consuming Fire Meditation- – A Daily Dose of the Flame of Love Diary Served Up with Today’s Scriptures

Memorial of Saint John Chrysostom

Put Them All Away

Mary: “The resistance against my words comes from your human doubts. By these doubts, you limit your soul’s capacity to act. This causes you spiritual harm. If you do not put them away, they will destroy your abandonment to us.” (Mary) (January 24, 1963)

Today’s Readings: But now you must put them all away:
anger, fury, malice, slander,
and obscene language out of your mouths.
Stop lying to one another,
since you have taken off the old self with its practices
and have put on the new self,
which is being renewed, for knowledge,
in the image of its creator. (Colossians 3)

Prayer Meditation- Lord, the theme today is putting away- we are full of doubts, anxieties, yes even sins of thought, word, and deed. We resist Your Grace- the only thing that can change us. And by putting up these little fights in our human will we are only hurting ourselves and limiting what You can do in us and through us. Yes, we must put them all away- anger, gossip,  any deliberate venial sins and attachments that keep us from taking off the old self and putting on the new self which is You fully alive in us!  Lord purify our intentions and our hearts as we  abandons ourselves to You!

Tuesday of the Twenty Third Week of Ordinary Time

He Nailed It To The Cross

For this, I have sweated blood. For this, I was crowned with thorns. I let Myself be nailed to the wood of the Cross. I endured unspeakable suffering.” (Jesus) (May 1962)

Today’s Readings: And even when you were dead in transgressions and the uncircumcision of your flesh, he brought you to life along with him, having forgiven us all our transgressions; obliterating the bond against us, with its legal claims, which was opposed to us, he also removed it from our midst, nailing it to the cross; (Colossians 2)

Prayer Meditation- Lord, You have nailed to the Holy Cross all of our transgressions! So why Lord do we walk around still in chains? Are we afraid to go to the Sacrament of Reconciliation because of some deep hidden sin  that we feel that God will never forgive? Go and be healed, He nailed it to The Cross!  Are we afraid to let go of anxiety and fear, our need for control, our lack of trust in Divine Providence? Let it go, He nailed it to The Cross! Is there anything holding you back from complete freedom- unforgiveness, bad habits and addictions, any malady of the heart? Take it to The Cross through His Word, Prayer, and the Sacraments- He has nailed it all to The Cross!

Monday of the Twenty Third Sunday of Ordinary Time

What are Your Intentions?

“Ask often and ask for much with respect to intentions and needs and you will receive accordingly. Even more, if I perceive your trust, I will fulfill your request repeatedly. “ (Jesus) (August 6, 1963)

Today’s Readings: But he realized their intentions and said to the man with the withered hand, “Come up and stand before us.” And he rose and stood there. Then Jesus said to them, “I ask you, is it lawful to do good on the sabbath rather than to do evil, to save life rather than to destroy it?” (Luke 6)

Prayer Meditation- Lord, You always realize our intentions good or bad. Are we standing on the sidelines like the Pharisees judging everything that does not line up with how we think things should be or are we ready to always do good in every circumstance no matter what others may think. This is hard but we can only imitate You with Your Grace! Lord purify our intentions and increase our trust in You so that we may serve others with Your Heart today!

Today’s Consuming Fire Meditation- – A Daily Dose of the Flame of Love Diary Served Up with Today’s Scriptures

Twenty Third Sunday of Ordinary Time

Two Or Three

Let there be at least two or three, because my Divine Son is present where two or three are gathered. Start by making the sign of the Cross five times offering yourselves to the Eternal Father through the wounds of my Divine Son. Do the same at the conclusion. Sign yourselves this way when you get up and when you go to bed, and during the day. This will bring you closer to the Eternal Father through my Divine Son, filling your heart with graces.” (Mary) (April 13, 1962)

Today’s Readings: Again, amen, I say to you, if two of you agree on earth about anything for which they are to pray, it shall be granted to them by my heavenly Father. For where two or three are gathered together in my name, there am I in the midst of them.” (Matthew 18)

Prayer Meditation- Lord You have promised us that where two or three are gathered in Your Name You are there! Lord You want us to be in community, even small little communities, in our family, in prayer and in unity! Lord help us not to be lone wolf Christians. While one alone may be easily overcome, two together can resist (Ecclesiastes 4:12)! Lord You are not asking us today for big programs, faith formation training, huge gatherings- they are all good. But Lord You are asking us to gather just one or two more together in Unity to pray the Most Holy Rosary

of the Blessed Virgin Mary because that is how Her Little Children and Yours crush the head of the serpent in our times and for all time! (Genesis 3:15)

Today’s Consuming Fire Meditation- – A Daily Dose of the Flame of Love Diary Served Up with Today’s Scriptures

Memorial of Saint Peter Claver

Grounded in the Gospel

“Whoever serve Me, My little one, cannot be a reed bending in the wind. She must persevere firmly at My side with an unshakable determination. Your soul cannot bow to anything that does not serve Me. Again, My little one, I ask that you persevere with Me.” (Jesus) (Compendium Page 118)

Today’s Readings: Brothers and sisters: You once were alienated and hostile in mind because of evil deeds; God has now reconciled you in the fleshly Body of Christ through his death, to present you holy, without blemish, and irreproachable before him, provided that you persevere in the faith, firmly grounded, stable, and not shifting from the hope of the Gospel that you heard, (Colossians 1)

Prayer Meditation- O Lord, we were once far from You but You have reconciled us to You through Your Son, Our Lord Jesus Christ to present us holy and blameless to You provided we persevere! O Lord, we are so weak, how easily we go from firmly grounded and stable to a reed bending in the wind! We can be so double minded, unstable in all of our ways (James 1:8). Little by little we start bowing to things that are not of You! But Lord, You have promised us that You are the Vine, we the branches! (John 15:5). Lord, please help us to remain in You and persevere firmly at Your side with unshakable determination- let us never lose hope in the Gospel!

Feast of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary

Hail Holy Queen!

“You must be selfless, for we will entrust you with a great mission and you will be up to the task. However, this is only possible if you remain totally selfless, abjuring yourself. That mission can be bestowed upon you only if you also want it out of your free will. (Jesus) (1962)

Today’s Readings:

Behold, the virgin shall be with child and bear a son, and they shall name him Emmanuel, which means “God is with us.” (Matthew 1)

Prayer Meditation- Lord God we thank You for Our Blessed Mother- the Woman clothed with the Sun- Blessed is She who believed that the Lord would fulfill His promises to Her (Luke 1 NLT)! Thank You for Our Beautiful Mother who gave Her Fiat so that we would be free! Lord, thank You for giving Her to us as our Mother and Model of a life totally surrendered to Your Grace! She is our Star of the Sea and She will always point the way home to You! Hail Holy Queen our life, our sweetness and our hope! Pray for us O Holy Mother of God that we may be made worthy of the promises of Christ!
